"When I visited this restaurant for the first time, I was impressed with the taste and the affordability. Unfortunately, my recent experience has completely changed my view. Firstly, I went there with the idea of eating again the delicious tuna and soul sandwich I had...the first time I went there but I was told this was no longer available due to their menu changing every 6 months. I was extremely disappointed and tempted to walk out, but I decided to try something else, a simple ham and cheese toast priced at £7. Nothing different from the £3 ham and cheese toast you get somewhere else. The most shocking part was the fact they sell a glass of coke for £3!!! Really??? A 330ml can costs approximately 26p to a restaurant and I get they need to make a profit, but £1.5 would be more than enough for a coke. Considering this, I opted out for some water and did not order chips (you could have potentially earned more by having honest prices). My partner ordered the coke and said it taste awful as it was purely coloured water. The only positive note was the staff, friendly and welcoming as the first time. Will I go back? Not for sure!"

Really enjoyed the food. Really tasty and well presented. But the staff serving really made the meal, incredibly friendly smiley and efficient.

I absolutely adore Northern Soul! They serve the best grilled cheese sandwich, and the service is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's the perfect spot for a delicious lunch.

The dining experience was good, but there were no baby changing facilities and this was not communicated until it was too late. I have recommended to the staff that they inform customers with a child or young baby that these amenities are not available. Not recommended for families. Unfriendly attitude and I will not be returning.

I can forgive slow service, which it was, but the managers attitude was appalling. Rude to me, seemed very stressed, which made the serving staff stressed, and they seemed to be unhappy with how he was speaking to them. The manager made it an uncomfortable...environment to be in, and didn't seem like he could handle himself when things were busy. I felt sorry for the staff.

Affordable, great sized portions, excellent presentation and taste. Great and fast service , great selection of drinks and food is always piping hot. It is clear that this place has an owner and management team that are working really hard to make sure that every...box is ticked. It is unsurprising that this place is always serving customers. It’s my favourite spot in Manchester and I’d recommend it to anyone.

My last visit to Northern Soul was a few years ago and was memorable for the food and the funky premises. Sad to see it move into a more conventional eatery in Tib Street and become very corporate- the very thing it wasn 't. I know...success moves businesses on but this place has lost its soul and has a very fast food feel. Food was fine but felt there was less choice than my previous visit. Came out feeling very deflated.

I am so glad that I don't live close enough to Northern Soul to visit regularly, otherwise I would have no self-control! I have a huge craving for cheese, which is my all-time favorite, and the food at this restaurant is delicious, well-presented, and generous in portion size. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the drinks are good. I was pleasantly surprised to see Irn-bru on the menu, as it's not often found in drinks lists. Overall, it's a fantastic concept and a wonderful place.

I brought my partner here to birthday dinner and we both loved it! from the moment we arrived we received a great service. the staff is busy, but always time for them and ask for them. the drinks are beautiful and generous. we have the strawberry limonade and peach tea and loved both. we ordered the philly cheese steak grilled cheese and the Mac attack with roasted chicken. we also ordered buffalo chicken wings along with fried pickles and cheesy jalapeños pommes. everything was fresh, well presented and delicious! my only complicity would be that they have a tiny part of fricken for the £5 price tag. we enjoyed our visit very much and will be the absolute return when we are back in the oppo...

I came here a month ago with a friend. our bill was grounded and we were charged wrong. we waited for 45 minutes for a refund, without occurring. we were then promised that this will be sent to us within the next days and we would receive a call from which nothing happened. a month later and no refund yet, which is absolutely appalling. there was very little communication, and they have now stopped responding overall. it feels sadly as if they now have no intention to repay us the 50 pounds we owe. they initially said that they have done the refund (which has clearly gone to the wrong person/consultation), but they have been looking at it for weeks if we only need the refund that is being re...

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
