Advertised as dog friendly but the staff and in particular the owners could not have been any ruder if they tried to me and my puppy

Stumbled across this pub one wet Saturday looking for some nice food to warm us up. We was not disappointed. Food was incredible highly recommend the rag pudding!! Service was fantastic too. We will defo be back to try the roast.

We visited a Sunday in January and this is not our first visit. It is exactly how all pub food and atmospheres should be. Excellent food, friendly staff, open to walkers and their dogs, lovely atmosphere. Simply the best pub in Bolton.

here today with friends. they were not too busy and we sat fast and served. there was a decent selection of beers. the menu was typical for pub food. my fish and chips were excellent, large and well cooked and presented. the personal was friendly and efficient.

we went on a weekday, so not book and appeared. beautiful against and warns busy what I didn't think because we had prams and I was breastfeeding. the personal was friendly and welcoming. great variety on the menu. I had 2 nibbeln as. a big thing and my friends ever had sandwich. all the food looked fantastic, I was happy with me. the chips looked good what my friends had. would have gone back there.

Arrived without a booking and was quickly found a table. Order was taken. Drinks arrived promptly. A bit of a wait for food but it was busy and we were in good company. Food duly arrived piping hot. Proper chips so needed mayonnaise. Mayonnaise was...in sachets in a bowl. Tried several attempts to open but to no avail. Passed to adult grandson to try to open. Waiter is passing the table and I as a 72 year old lady politely asked “how do you open these” (thinking probably there was a knack to it) only to be answered “with your hands”. “How rude” the table chorused! Needless to say that it left me feeling rather underwhelmed!

they wrote a contribution on facebook about me and my dog sitting at the wrong place. it was me who came with my dog on holy evening and told of stubbornly that it was good for me to sit on a certain table... with my dog “because it is holy evening”. the food was not served, and it was the table closest to the “non-grown area” (the designated area), but became a teppich. lorraine saw us later and came by to talk to us loud, public to tell us that we were not welcome to sit where we were. on holy evening. when we were told it was okay. they did that because they had already told another family, they could not sit there. I booked with two friends and we paid a £10 deposit each and pre-ordered our meals. Eight days before we were due to visit one of my friends told me that she now needed to care for her mother in law who was waiting for...an end of life hospice bed. As such she would not be able to join us for the meal. I called in at the restaurant the same day and cancelled one meal, giving the details of the specific menu choices no longer required. I called the restaurant late afternoon, to book a table for later that evening. Despite there being no availability at the time I requested, the manager went out of his way to shuffle a few tables around, and was able to meet my request. I...was dining with my Grandma and husband, and on our arrival it was clear that it was a busy evening for the restaurant and bar. However, this in no way held up or affected the customer service. Our orders were taken quickly, by a friendly and helpful waitress who was able to answer some questions about some specific dishes on the menu.
