"So, I ordered a meal for one: beef with black bean sauce, extra broccoli, and a portion of noodles. The delivery distance was 1 and a half miles, and it came to a total of £15. Now, I don’t mind paying for good food; I’d even be willing to pay more if I genuinely enjoy it. But here’s the catch. When the delivery driver arrived, he asked for £17, and I handed him £20. However, he claimed not to have any change. I usually tip a minimum of a pound, but he didn’t have change for my £20, which left me feeling annoyed. Maybe I’m overreacting, but the meal essentially cost me £20, right? Now, let’s talk about the food. It looked amazing, and I couldn’t wait for the first bite. As I dug in, my optimism started to wane. I really wanted this food to be good, especially since I had just paid £20 for it. I gave it a fair chance, but the more I ate, the more I realized it was a complete waste of money. It lacked flavor, the broccoli had no crunch, and aside from the distinctive taste of the black beans, there wasn’t much going on. Overall, the meal was disappointing. As someone who’s passionate about food and truly appreciates a good meal, this experience was far from satisfying. I hope the owner takes note. All the best."

Oriental palace is the best restaurant in Hull. Been coming here for two years now and food has never disappointed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Owners and chefs are chinese, so food is authentic. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Had a takeaway and it was complete disaster- they forgot to put chips in the bag so we ended up cooking ones at home. Fried noodles were tasteless mush of boiled grey substance. Spicy beef was bland and watery. For the price of cafe on takeaway meal I would get much better quality in Lidl next door paying a quarter of amount. Avoid.

We have gone for years on and off. The service is always a bit slow and often you get some dishes quite late so not together as a family. The food is all authentic and fresh but just ok to good. The Singapore fried rice was greasy, mixed starter good and other dishes ok. The meat isn’t good quality like at most Chinese restaurants. Often they will only take cash too when there are 4 of you is awkward nowadays.

Walked in for a take away , ordered special curry chips , spacial chow mein she charged me £24 . I normally goto golden star who charge £16 . I was expecting this to reflect in the quality if the food . But it was horrible , the chow mein was cold tasteless and had fat instead of meat .The special curry was hot but again fatty meat , the chicken was chewy , the small portion of chips was tasteless .we threw it all in the bin , what a waste of £24 thats restaurant prices , we took it away an threw it away id give zero stars if i could !!! Will stick with golden star in the future .
