Oswald & Kalb - Piatti

Reading the menu, we expected more refined food. The service was very quick (a bit too quick) and the waiter gave too much the impression of being in a hurry although the restaurant wasn’t crowded. The food was certainly good, but we expected a...bit more for the price we paid.

We were recommended by our hotel Ritz Carlton Vienna . Place is nice and simple. Service was fast and accurate. Staff were friendly and nice . We ordered the soup and tuna tartar for appetizer, we had better but the highlight of the night was...the Veal Schnitzel . Everyone was ordering this dish . Desert was great also . Apple pie .

Hier bekommt man frisch zubereitete Gerichte, ein umfassende Beratung und passende Getränke.Wir hatten Filetspitzen mit Eierschwammerlgulasch und Serviettenknödel, dazu Weißwein.Alles einigermaßen preiswert, wenn man die gebotene Qualität heranzieht. Ottimo locale con piatti tipici viennesi (ottima la cotoletta alla viennese, davvero ben fatta!) e personale molto cortese. Locale poco frequentato dai turisti per via della posizione un po' nascosta, il che contribuisce a creare un clima di maggior intimità e riservatezza. Unica pecca è la mancanza di climatizzazione all'interno, che d'estate si fa sentire. Locale comunque ampiamente promosso!

Wir sind dieses Jahr nach Wien gereist, um uns auf Falco Spuren zu begeben. Da ist natürlich ein Besuch bei OSWALD & KALB ein muss. Als ich meiner Familie die Historie erklärte, bat uns der Kellner ins Restaurante. Dort erwarten uns die Besitzer und erzählten uns von damals.Wir haben klassisch Wiener Schnitzel gegessen ... es war Weltklasse. Rundum eine absolute Top-Adresse, wenn ihr mal nach Wien kommt.

I was staying close to Oswald und Kalb in Hoher Markt and this restaurant was recommended by my Austrian colleague. The inside of the restaurant is clean and modern with a wonderful selection of Austrian food. Vienna can be quite variable in terms of restaurant...quality, likely due to the large number of tourists. However, Oswald und Kalb was reassuringly full of locals and, for us, was an excellent example of a modern and higher-end take on Viennese cuisine. the greeting was warm and welcoming and the service was prompt and attentive. the atmosphere is very pleasant and elegant. great for date night. the table and the utensils are all clean and fresh with beautiful table linen. the serviettes are paper I thought...was strange, but certainly not away from the culinary experience. started with cream the pumpkin soup. the presentation was pleasant and the aroma appetizing. from first to last, the taste was wonderful. hauptkurs was braised lamb with ratatouille and polenta. absolutely lovely. dessert was chocolate lava cake with saw (shield over the photo. Started with Cream of Pumpkin soup. The presentation was pleasing and the aroma appetizing. From the first bite to the last the flavour was wonderful. Main course was Braised Lamb with Ratatouille and Polenta. Absolutely delightful. Dessert was Chocolate Lava Cake with cream (sorry about the photo. We visited Oswald and Kalb last night, our last night in Vienna as we wanted to save the best for the last evening. Had been eating there before as returning customers for almost 10 years and looked forward to the dinner. Well, we already should...have expected problems when the stressed out waiter only wanted to take orders for an aperitif and food, even if I tried to tell him that we wanted a nice white wine WITH the meal. We ordered Schnitzel and Solo Spargel, two prime dishes of the place to our earlier experience.
