Had a great evening meal with Local Family having made the trip to the Island from Lincolnshire. Steve and his staff were amazing. Loved the location and the ambience of the restaurant. Beautifully cooked excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to friends and family and you! No rushing you out of the door, tables positioned nicely. Good selection of drinks, very clean throughout..... Service was attentive, friendly, polite and with a smile. Considering all the above, very good value for money. One of the better restaurants in Shanklin. The sirloin steak was good, but the pork was quite dry and the potato mash was overly seasoned. The portion size for the starter was quite disappointing. The steak was unevenly cooked; one end was perfect while the other was medium-well. However, the dessert saved the meal and was delicious. We dined at The Cottage just one day later and had a much higher quality three-course meal for a lower price.
