"Entered the pub to find one lady serving behind the bar, she was busy however polite and jovial with us. We ordered our drinks although the choice of beer was incredibly limited. Asked to put a phone on charge and a second woman who I can only imagine is an in law now one wants to see rudely said that we couldn’t charge our phone. She was very unwelcoming and set a tone in the pub. Other people in the pub (practically the only other 2) looked at us in judgement of how she had treated us. I will not be returning due to how rude this woman behind the bar was"

"very picturesque location for a village pub just a little disappointed by the food and service. a village pub still with a one way system and covid restrictions, we were unable to join two tables together for our party of 7 as it would restrict...access to the toilet even though we could have probably been sat elsewhere that wouldn't have caused an obstruction. We pre ordered food via Email and the landlord was very helpful and friendly with all of this. Upon arrival we ordered a bottle of wine with four glasses, all four glasses were very misty and dirty one particularly was filthy which I returned to the bar for a clean one, it was clearly cleaned out with a wet smelly dishcloth as the glass had a misty residue and disgusting smell to it. The food arrived and was warm and good size portions. however, three of the party ordered Gammon, egg and Chips and were a little disappointed to find the gammon was actually a cold slab of ham with some frozen peas and oven chips. Pie and mash was tasty and would recommend. however, I did find a small hair in my mash. Overall the atmosphere of the pub is lovely and the other food, crab salad, chicken and chorizo stew and Wagu burger were all lovely. Nice village pub friendly landlord"

"Afternoon tea Good points: The food was fresh and of good quality, they had listened and followed our requirements. The food was tasty and the taste combinations good. The quantity of food was also very good. Downside: Wish we could have eaten in the garden area or the terrace, when asked we got told this wasn’t possible. But couldn’t see a reason why this wasn’t possible. Ag the very least an area set for tea parties would have been more desirable and we would have returned if the garden was an option. Cutlery, tea cups and tea pot were all very low quality and that you would expect at an old persons home or hospital. No offer of what type of tea we would like either. The elderflower drink tasted like sparkling water with a touch of elderflower cordial this could be improved. Staff weren’t ready for our arrival and stated “sorry we’ve been busy” but half the restaurant was full. The atmosphere was lacking. No offer of anything else. Lacking some finishing touches and details but was ok."

"Three of us, friends catching up, decided to dine at No. 77 on my suggestion, based on a positive experience 6 years ago. Despite some issues, we had a pleasant evening overall but left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return. We took a while to order due to arriving separately, but the waiter was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, there was a long wait for our food, and our main course arrived before our starter. Upon informing our waiter, he apologized and offered to check on the missing starter, but also asked if we wanted to proceed with the mains. We opted to wait for the starter, which had been forgotten. The staff apologized and offered another drink (not complimentary), but one order never arrived, prompting a trip to the bar to request it. The starter was lukewarm, while the mains were tasty, particularly the sticky rice, though my curry was disappointingly not very warm. Opting out of dessert due to time concerns, we found the staff friendly, the restaurant clean with trendy decor, but lacking in atmosphere for a Friday night. Despite the mediocre experience, the company made the evening enjoyable."

"three delicious meals meat bark sun roast exotic mushroom paparadelle and children tomaten parmesan paparadelle. delicious food, well presented. the bark was very chewing and the team was very apologised, the meat exchanged and replaced by another. the chef came out and apologised and thanked us for highlighting the meat quality (apparently a new cut from another metzger)"
