One of the best traditional pubs in Keswick. Warm, cosy (real fire) atmosphere and really efficient and friendly staff. Food is super yummy, with generous portions and good prices.

fabulous call for sunday roasts and we were not disappointed by Saturday night. unusually large selection for the non-meat egg even if they are veggie, please enter this small pub. they will not be disappointed.

it has the cozy atmosphere they want to have a country pub with an illuminated fireplace. traditional eating that is delicious and comes in large portions, perfect for a post-migration hungry. very clean toilets. friendly staff.

Great place, really busy but still got great service. Good guiness, quote a few veggy options which could be made vegan. We had mushroom Wellington which had a great rich gravy. Also had veg tagine, huge portion and very tasty and fresh, highly recommend if you are staying nearby Visualizza piatti

The food was very good, although due to lack of staff no starters were being served they had ran out of fish pie. The pastry on the beef pie was lovely and the meat was very tender. It may have been a better idea to put the sauce that came with the steak in a jug. I would go back despite the above points.

beautiful pub serves first class traditional cuisine. of course we had to get the fish cake and it was not disappointed! the venison bourguignon was also delicious. both were huge portions, so no place for dessert! the staff was short, but that is not a reason to remove a star. the waiters were kind and huddling hard!

after an 11-mile walk around the whole loop of thirlmere, we decided to call here to see if they have burst. it was very, very busy, but they allowed us to sit on a table in the bar and came to set it up immediately. we had rib-eye and sirloin, then we had chocolate pudding and cheesecake. the food was excellent and the staff was really friendly.
