I used to frequent Benkaz at least once a month, but my recent visit with family left me disappointed with both the food and the service.

Come here regularly, set menu is amazing value for money. Always have steak and the steak is always cooked to perfection with amazing flavour! Service can sometimes be a bit slow however but manager is really friendly and great with customers! Great wee asset to shotts Visualizza piatti

Arrived at Benkaz at 10 past one to be turned away at the door after being told that they close at 2. I understand restaurants close but to not be offered a table 50 mins before closing is poor indeed. We will not be coming back although it had been recommended to us. We have went elsewhere and the service could not be better.

Cant criticise the food but what has happened to the service, phoned for a table and was told their was nothing my partner phoned 5mins later and we had a table, had to ask twice for a drink then the sweet menu followed by the bill then to top it all had to go to the bar for my change, not saying I wouldnt be back but find I off putting to return.

My husband and I dined at Benkaz on Friday, September 1st, as we had not visited since the renovation. We were thoroughly impressed with everything. The food was outstanding, with the prawn cocktail being delicious, the chicken in peppercorn sauce being excellent, and the sticky toffee pudding being a delightful treat. The worst service I have ever had. Booked for my dad's 60th. Didn't have our reservation, asked us to wait on a table. Waited 45 mins then 11 of us were squeezed in the corner with no way for us to get in and out after we had sat down. Asked for a few jugs of water for the table when we sat down. The girl appeared 5 mins later with 1 jug of water and 3 glasses. A further 10 mins later we still hadn't even been given menus so we left. First time I have experienced anything like it. Will definitely not be back.

We have visited Benkaz several times with our friends and family for various events, and we have never encountered any issues. It had been a while since our last visit, so we decided to see the new renovations. Unfortunately, if this is what the renovations have brought, they should just start over. The food was still excellent, as always, but the new staff they have hired are incredibly unprofessional. The manager was rude, smelled of smoke, and was dressed inappropriately for a restaurant of this caliber. The other staff members seemed clueless and unhelpful when we asked multiple times for our drinks, which were clearly visible at the bar.

visited on Friday night for anniversary dinner.... arrived seated straight away in the lovely new extension .... bright airy and very stylish have seen previous reviews with reagrds to the music personally we found the volume to be absolutely fine.... drinks were brought by a nice young girl who made us feel very welcome.... ordered al a carte and i must say we have eaten italian all over even in italy..... not a patch on the food at benkaz ..... gamberoni and meatballs to start.... my husband had a fillet which was cooked to perfection i had the chicken milanse delicious.... the home made sweets and bellini topped the evening off..... all in all price food surroundings and staff are all top...
