Unfortunately I have to say Ratskeller did not live up to my expectations based on the rating of second best restaurant in town- I am not entirely sure why. The place has a German charm to it and the menu is very satisfying with a good selection although a little too pricy for what it is. Portions are big but lack finesse. I ordered veal liver with apple and onion which was nice but could easily have been made absolutely fabulous, it was just dished out on the plate with a mountain of onion covering the lovely pieces of liver, and my husband had Schnitzel which he thought was a little on the dry side. Maybe I am just being too picky but I just couldn't stop thinking about what it would have looked and tasted like had I chosen the same dish in a neighbouring country ... Service is good and quick and as I mentioned before portions are generous."

Nice outdoor terrace. Friendly and good service. We got huge wienerschnitsel with a tasty special potato salad with bacon and spices. Highly recommended.

from our room to the restaurant and were very satisfied with the eating, ambiente and especially the servier staff. not many males on this cold and windy night, but the server was very helpful and friendly with great recommendations...for eating and drinks selection.

We eat there as large family from almost 3 to 65 years old and everyone was happy. Good food, fast and friendly service. The kids received drawing materials to bridge the waiting time and a small pack gummibears with their kids meal. Can't think of...what could have been done better.

mushroom soup is one of my favorite and ratskeller has some of the best in the world. This small, unpretentious restaurant offers a large selection of fish, meat and vegetarian in their menu. the portions are very generous and some of the most delicious food I had in Germany. there is always one who can speak English.

Although traffic drives along, the restaurant offers good food and a nice view of the castle. We found that almost all the restaurants in Rheinsberg were closed after 19:00, so you are stuck with this one. Quality was not bad though. Prices were good: a...Wiener Schinitzel for 15,90 € and a recommendation: the Grillteller for 16,90 € Accompanied with a Wiezen Bier and you have a great meal.

Came into Rheinsberg on a late evening in January, just to experience that most of the town was closed. One of the only places that were open and accepted credit cards were Ratskeller, and that was a really pleasant experience. Service spoke English and was...swift and friendly. Food was not outstanding, but good quality no fuzz grub at a reasonable price. Just what you need, when you have been on the road all day and need to eat before you crash in a hotel room.

We drove in quite late to have a quick meal before heading on south. Not much was open in this city on a January Sunday evening around 7.30 PM. An Italian restaurant didn't accept Visa and we were not in the mood for the...Chinese on the mainstreet, but luckily the Ratskeller was open, accepted the card and had a nice menu with lots to choose between.
