"Das Essen ist einfach spektakulär und der Service ist sehr freundlich! Wir waren 4 Tage in Ascona und kamen dreimal hintereinander an den Ort. Die Pizza ist nicht von dieser Welt und ich kann die Pizzastute e monti sehr empfehlen."

"My wife and I spent our usual alpine walking holiday in Ticino based in Locarno but after some poor experiences especially with the Belvedere last year we decided that it would be safer to book B&B and eat out.This restaurant is about a half hour bus ride from Locarno, so it is reasonably close. On our first visit the weather was somewhat inclement so we sat inside. The greeting was first rate and the service efficient and friendly without being too attentive.Now as for the food it is exceptional, my half roasted chicken was probably the best I have ever eaten and having tasted my wife's veal, it was equally pleasing. The offerings of wine by the bottle, carafe or glass is extensive. My wife finished with the pannacotta which was beautifully presented and simply perfection on a plate.Having been so pleased with our first visit we again picked this restaurant later in the week and again were not disappointed.There was one little niggle and although not the restaurants fault, it was a balmy night so many were eating outside. Unfortunately some of these diners were smoking without any consideration for others around. The selfish attitude of these people appalls me!We therefore chose to sit alone inside, apart from the polluters but the food was equally delicious. Only one small criticism - because we were inside the waiters did overlook us for nearly 30 minutes whilst serving the many diners outside.However , this did not detract from the experience.An excellent establishment serving super food."

"Ich habe einige 'negative Bewertungen ' über das Grotto da Peo gelesen und kann diese in keinster Weise nachvollziehen. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten und das Grotto eigentlich ausgebucht war, machte es die Chefin und das Personal möglich, dass wir doch noch einen Tisch bekamen, der erst später gebucht war. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, das Essen sehr gut und die Aussicht einzigartig. Das Aussergewöhnliche war, dass wir schon zu Beginn gefragt haben, ob wir mit einer Karte bezahlen können, was die Chefin aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen verneinte. Sie sagte ich gebe euch meine IBAN Nummer und ihr könnt dann über e banking bezahlen... Das nenne ich wahre Gastfreundschaft und es hinterliess bei uns den Wunsch, baldmöglichst wieder im Grotto da Peo einzukehren!"

"Bei sehr schönem Wetter dort gewesen und die überwältigende Aussicht bewundert. Dann haben wir Essen mit Getränken bestellt. Hätten wir lieber nur Getränke geordert. Die Minestrone war mit die schlechteste, die wir je gegessen haben. Die Nudeln mit Bolognese waren zwar gut, aber die Menge der Bolognese war höchstens ein Esslöffel voll. Obwohl wir dies reklamierten, fanden wir kein Gehör. Dafür durften wir für dieses dürftige Gericht stolze 16,50 Sfr. bezahlen. Trotz der tollen Aussicht, war uns die Freude, durch das schlechte Essen mit den horrenden Preisen, vergangen."

"Solitamente amavo questo ristorante, ma la mia ultima visita è stata molto deludente. Eravamo un gruppo di 4 persone. 3 hanno ordinato la pizza, 1 il pesce. Il pesce è arrivato, e nel momento in cui il mio amico lo ha finito finalmente sono arrivate 2 pizze. Quando ho chiesto della terza pizza, il cameriere (ragazzo alto e magro di colore) ha detto che sarebbe arrivata presto. Dopo 10 minuti ancora nulla, così ho chiesto di nuovo. Finalmente è arrivata mentre i miei amici avevano già finito la cena. Il cameriere l'ha servita senza scusarsi e ha chiesto allo stesso tempo se volevamo ordinare il dessert! Scusate, posso prima mangiare la mia pizza?!? Quando abbiamo ordinato il dessert lo stesso cameriere ha sbagliato anche quella volta e ha portato gli articoli sbagliati. Di nuovo nessuna scusa, neanche un caffè offerto per l'attesa. Non ci tornerò."
