I have been here so many times and eating is simply delicious and beautifully dressed. the service is fast, efficient and incredibly courteous and friendly.

Ganz wunderbar gelegen, sehr feines Essen. Leider war die eine Bedienung sehr mürrisch, das hat das Erlebnis ein bisschen getrübt. Allerdings hat die Eigentümerin es wieder 'raus gerissen, witzig, zugewandt, sehr freundlich. Sehr empfehlenswert.

they have a beautiful view of the water and the illuminated atlantic hotel. from the service we were delighted at from the beginning, eating at high level, especially the fish dishes are recommended. the wine selection is good and tasty (as they ask for the red wine of the chef who has his own weinberg.) everything in all no cheap restaurant, price/performance is acceptable.

Hatten zu viert einen sehr schönen und stimmigen Abend. Der Service war aufmerksam und Michele traf mit seiner Wein Empfehlung perfekt unseren Geschmack. Wir hatten (unter anderem vgl Fotos) Tartar mit Wachtelei, Iberico Kotelett vom Grill, Safranrisotto mit Jacobsmuscheln, Seeteufelfilet und zum Schluss Pannacotta. Das Essen war wirklich vorzüglich! Freunde haben uns dieses Lokal empfohlen und wir besuchten es ohne Reservierung mitten in der Woche. Gelungene gediegene und sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, mit wunderbarem Blick auf die Aussenalster, Kennedybrücke und das Hotel Atlantic. Freundliche aufmerksamer Empfang, Tischzuweisung und Service. Erstklassige Auswahl an Speisen, die Jacobsmuscheln und die anschließende Linguine mit Garnelen an Hummerschaum waren excellent. Klasse Sauvignon blanc aus dem Friaul und eine wirklich perfekte Tiramisu rundeten den sehr schönen Abend im Portonovo ab.

located directly on the former in hamburg, this is really great. we had no reservation, but they managed to find a nice table for us on a Tuesday after the long weekend on May 1. the appetizer with goat cheese was an interesting and tasty combination of ingredients. the manager/owner was very courteous and allowed me to order one of the lunch menus for dinner. I can definitely recommend the restaurant and will come back at the next Hamburg visit. the place is very full, so I would strongly suggest a reservation so that they are not disappointed.

Assuming there is a chance you are a little tired of German food, Portonovo, on the south side of the Alsenalster, nestled between embassies and rowing clubs, serves fresh Italian fare. It sits right on the water, with a deck primed for summer luncheons, and...is popular with the business crowd year round. It is bright, decorated with black and white photos of the city, not too loud, and offers daily specials and a prix fixe menu. Serving sizes are small and prices a bit steep, but, as seems to be the trend in this town, you are paying for the privilege of a stunning view which, in this case, includes the historic, copper-topped Kempenski hotel across the lake.
