"When we arrived the main bar/restaurant was full of smoke, we were seated in the conservatory away from most of the smoke, we were asked three times in quick succession if we were ready to order and I ordered one starter and was given two and i refused one of them but they gave it free of charge. When the main course arrived, I had pork and one of the elements to the dish was excessively salty. When we finished the main course I asked to speak to the manager and mentioned the points I have raised and also that it was a very rushed experience that we did not enjoy. We had two coffees that I was not charged for on the final bill but I was very surprised to see a service charge on the bill which I unfortunately paid almost out of embarrassment. I will not be returning."

"Sunday lunch, drinks,roasts and dessert. Food a little overpriced but basically good quality. Staff welcoming on arrival. Main criticism was we felt 'chased ' by a waitress who kept coming to table and asking if we had finished when clearly two of us were still midway eating our roast. After the third time of doing this within a short window it became very annoying and spoiled our visit. Restaurant was not busy and we were well within our two-hour allocation for a party of 2-4 people. A party of sixteen were arriving as we left but that 's no excuse. Hesitant to go for lunch again."

"Went to the Evenhill today for Christmas lunch with good friends. 3 of us ordered Mushroom Risotto and the other ordered Pork Belly. Eventually we were brought out 3 mushrooms on toast not what we ordered and at the same time they brought out the Pork Belly. We sent it all back. They then brought out 3 cold Risotto’s which were stoggy so these got sent back and the Pork Belly was still cold as it was left to sit under a light. We changed orders to fish and chips for me and the others stuck to the Risotto but again brought out cold and was tasteless as not made with stock , wine and didn’t have any mushrooms in it. The Pork Belly was not eaten and then we ordered one more fish and chips which my shared. All in all a terrible experience and needless to say we will never go there again Noteworthy details: Wouldn’t stay now as good is so bad"

"I had a wonderful experience at this charming traditional pub. The menu was nice and it was great to see the chef in proper chef attire, which is uncommon nowadays. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were warm and friendly. I look forward to coming back again. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere a 4 out of 5."

"Cracking price and quality a friend recommended this cafe/cake shop. It’s a real gem and hidden away. Prices are good and quality exceptional haven’t eaten such fresh salad in a long time. My partner had the special croque monsieur. Healthy portion and lovely salads. A great menu brunch/lunch and afternoon tea best bit is that all menues pretty much available all day so very flexible when you have a small group who want different things!! Serve alcohol, great coffee and our favourite local tea."
