"Sainsbury’s restaurant Kings Lynn. After completing our shopping just after midday we thought a bit of lunch would be good so went upstairs and ordered fish and chips. Previous visits had been quite good and the battered fish and chips were a keen favourite for us and others. When our two meals arrived a lot sooner than usual the meal looked very uninteresting with what appeared to be a flat triangular portion of fish and I think oven-cooked chips with the standard portion of peas. It look as though the fish had been oven-cooked also and was tasteless. We persevered through the meal adding a large portion of tartar sauce to provide some degree of flavour. The recipe appears to have changed dramatically and I believe providing drab oven baked fish rather than deep-fried, probably healthier but certainly not tastier. Very disappointed, why change a winning dish? Possibly more convenient and cheaper to prepare. Shan’t be returning."

3 of us for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Our order was forgotten. People who arrived way after us got their food first. Vegetarian sausages were absolutely stone cold and the fried eggs were crisped to a cinder. Staff rushed off their feet and seemed to be doing the jobs of 2 people.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant last week when I ordered a full breakfast without beans, but it still came with beans. I sent it back, but when it returned, it was missing the beans and the egg. I didn't feel like bothering to send it back again. This week, they were out of pepper. What is happening in this café?

This café on the first floor is a great stop during a journey. The space is lovely and airy, with large picture windows. The snacks are tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The toilets are conveniently located and the tables are well spaced out. This wasn't our first visit and it definitely won't be our last. Visualizza piatti

We come every week to the cafe and despite the change in menu have usually been satisfied with the food. However..and as I can have nothing with flour or yeast I have to avoid beds etc, I had jacket potato with tuna abd sweetcorn. It arrived...a splodge of beige liquid with yellow floaters. I ate most of it..only because we had been out since 8 and it was 1.30. The potato was really hard too. What a shame. So disappointed.

I recently stopped by this restaurant for lunch and I have to say, it has fallen far below its usual standards. I ordered the Ham, Egg, and Chips, and I was disappointed to find that the eggs were dry and the chips were lukewarm. It seemed like both items had been sitting out for a while before being served to me. They arrived so quickly that I didn't even have time to sit down. It's a shame that the management doesn't take the time to read and respond to these reviews.

One star for being open! The lady behind the counter looked so miserable, not a great start. Ordered a pie a jacket potato cheese, eventually received food from a much more smiley member of staff but oh dear the pie look very sad, my just described it as a soggy cloth with dog food in the middle My potato was barely warm, a side of lettuce only no butter. Smiley lady took plate back when I asked for a salad with something else with the lettuce, she came back to report you could only have 20g of lettuce, butter was 20p for a tiny portion. Please sainsburys is that the standard you wish to adhere to? It’s not good enough Visualizza piatti

Had a meal here today. Usually, we have no complaints but, today, it was so poor we felt we had to mention about it. My partner 's meal came out absolutely stone cold (Fish, Chips and Peas). Upon asking for a replacement meal it was taken away...... and simply re-heated for a moment or two. Chips were almost black from having been quickly heated through again, peas were still barely warm. Poor service and even poorer kitchen standards. Makes one wonder whether the training received actually covers food prep/service. As an ex, qualified chef of some 30 years, it beggars belief that no one is checking the meals that are being sent out for quality, temperature, etc. Very poor, indeed.

We have in the past been regular customers of the cafés here and in other Sainsburys stores. We were looking forward to lunch yesterday and were disappointed. Our regular choice is lasagne, one of us has the beef lasagne and the other has the vegetable lasagne. Years ago the lasagne used to come with either salad or chips and garlic bread. Then things changed and we had to order garlic bread as a separate side and sweet potato fries were also available as a side order. Yesterday we were told that garlic bread was no longer available as a side order. Sweet potato fries also are not now available as a side order. The salad on the plate turned out to be a rather uninspiring portion of green lea...

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
