Shillingfords Fish And Chip Shop

Shillingfords lives up to their reputation for quality. You have to wait, of course, for freshly cooked food but it's certainly worth it.

The food always makes me sick, most of the time the food is overcooked and dry and the portions sizes are really small. My mum ordered online and had a few things missing

I’m afraid this establishment has gone downhill. This is the second time the chips were warm and looked like they had been standing for a long while. pie pastry was hard. Don’t waste your money.

Don't often get fish and chips but when I do I go to shillingfords, but after today never again, the fish was greasy and soggy batter and the chips were like bullets, gone right downhill I'm sorry to say, straight into bin.

Visited this restaurant years ago and had a great experience, but had a disappointing visit last week. I ordered a rissole that had large chunks of uncooked potato in it, resulting in hard and cold chunks. The chips were also soaking wet. Overall, the meal was awful.

Went here at closing time, about 8:55pm, which if you’ve ever worked in retail or public facing jobs, you know how irritating that can be. Well, they were absolutely wonderful, gave us a bunch of free food on top of what we bought. Genuinely lovely people. Well worth going here.

Ring your order through , as its always busy . It has tables to eat in . a good choice of food for a chipy , plus a few homemade options like curry. They do battered Halloumi.. its totally a lush option if your vegetarian , seved with sweet chilli sauce .the spicy curry sauce is ace from here too .

Unfortunately awful food. Absolutely awful overcooked sausage in batter. Tiny little pots of curry for an extortionate price. Chips were mainly scraps/overcooked or with green parts. Given the responses to negative reviews on here, I'm not sure we would have a positive experience reporting this to the staff. Such a shame but we will not use shillingfords again.

I've just been in. I am disabled. I suffer chronic pain. My child is disabled. All we wanted was an ice cream. We arrived in the shop, got our ice cream and were made to wait whilst I could feel it melting in my hands and the two women who came in after us were served first and had a long hot food order. All we wanted was a single ice cream. My disabled child started to get agitated and was pulling on my hand. The pain was too severe so I told the cashier I was disappointed she couldn't have just let me tap for the £6 ice cream and I'm leaving. She had the cheek to tell me to put the ice cream back in the fridge if I'm not going to buy it. I do think they could streamline their service by ha...
