"I’m very sad to be writing this review to be truthful. We have been a few times before Covid lockdown for the lunch menu which was excellent and really good value in our opinion. We decided to give them a try for dinner and try...and support a local business rather than a big chain. We didn’t check it they were doing the eat out to help out and they weren’t which was a surprise but we did eat there knowing this in advance. The staff and restaurant were fully Covid compliant, but as there was only us and one other couple in there, it wasn’t a big concern. The restaurant which is normally buzzing lacked any atmosphere. The food was mediocre to poor and definitely overpriced. We both had a soup to start, and both felt that they were under seasoned two different soups). They weren’t unpleasant just bland and uninspired. For mains we ordered dishes a roast duck dish and a prawn and chilli dish my partner also asked for a side of pak Choi and was charged yes for some steamed pak Choi). The duck was in a nice sauce but it was very salty- and the skin/ batter was soft- not crispy like normal. My partners prawns were nicely cooked but he said the use seasoning made it taste like eating prawns in potpourri. The pak Choi was fine, but definitely not worth the money. We also had a boiled rice and a fried rice, a Diet Coke and a lemonade. Our total bill was over We did comment that it was much more expensive than we had expected and that the food hadn’t been as good as normal but the staff weren’t really bothered- just in a rush to get us out as we were by this point the only people in there at We did pay and leave but we wouldn’t ever go back for an evening meal and to be honest would probably now try somewhere else even for the lunch deal because we’re a bit disheartened by the whole experience ."

We have been regular visitors to the Tai Pan (now Tai Wu) for many years and whilst the food is consistently good and service excellent, the high prices may cause us to think again !

Heavily flavored, salty and oily food. I grow up in Hong Kong so you can trust my taste buds. They can definitely do better. Price wise, I went with a large group of friends for lunch and paid pounds, definitely not worth it. Visualizza piatti

This restaurant offers good Chinese food, but when I dine here the waiter picks up the plate before finishing my meal. And I also believe that prices are very expensive in relation to the quality of food. They could do better.

Went there for lunch today. Have been many times before. The food was really good as usual but the prices have gone through the roof. Chicken chow mein used to be about now Cantonese roast duck used to be about now sum used to be about now over Won’t be visiting again any time soon.

My Son and his partner bought a trip here for my Birthday, She is of Chinese descent and we had Dim Sums from her recommendation, all different, some not to my taste but most were fabulous. The chilli fried beef was the best I've had....Authentic chinese food, with a great supermarket linked. Visualizza piatti

It was great to return to Tai Pan (now renamed Tai Woo) It was one of the first places we wanted to return to when indoor dining became available, as we have always liked the delicious food, and the frenetic but friendly service. We had...various dim sum, crispy duck and pancakes, and our son’s favourite won ton soup; just the same as ever. Looking forward to returning!

Ni hao Manchester “Tia Pan” restaurant is equal to our favorite Tia Pan restaurant in Liverpool serving what only can be described as proper bits of China . Normally we will eat here after a monthly visit to Lungs supermarket buying material for the Mrs... Chinese home cooking. Thankfully this western husband will just sit back and wait for the dishes to arrive at the table. To be totally honest some of selections ordered from the proper Chinese menu are not really my cup of tea, if you understand the meaning. Wouldn’t describe either locations as a romantic setting just somewhere you can enjoy wholesome food of quality mainly in the company of eastern folk. Oh yeah the menu price and servi...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
