"beautiful land pub at the far end of burwell (we drove from cambridge) a large and exceptionally picturesque village in cambridgeshire. we went for Sunday midday in juni and although a tad expensive, the limited menu had exactly what they want for a Sunday dinner. the meat was ex eptio ally well cooked. Unfortunately, the pub closes soon, but instead of being sold for living, it looks as if it were just a case of the habitable chef who moves and green king, the different manager installed. while a scandal to lose the chef, the pub itself is in idyllic position. there is a small parking lot large enough for 8 10 cars next to it."

We visited here on a Friday evening. It was busy so booking is a good idea. Food excellent the Thai dishes delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. We live in the village so this will now be a regular restaurant for us to use. We will also be trying their takeaway option. Visualizza piatti

We had dinner here for the first time on a recent Saturday. Place very full, but tables are well separated. Obviously newly renovated. Staff very efficient. Both of us had the set menu, which was all lovely.. Thought the price was a fair one. Live in the next village, so are sure to return. Highly recommended.

really nice, refined eating and great pub clips under the new cook. I had nice whispers as starters that were delicious and perfectly cooked. it was a generous part and would do as a light lunch. I also had the Caesar salad, which was light and tasty and presented with a modern spin. fish n chips looked great. beautiful brot again massive portion. will be back soon.

excellent dining, beautiful building, great service, well maintained beer, beautiful sitting in evening sun exceptional round! we have tried 3 courses and all agreed that it was the best pub menu we had for a very long time. very fine cooking, but also the good beer is important to us, and combined with the great service and atmosphere to spend a very pleasant evening. Lovely food really enjoyed it , bur beware we booked a table for 4 at 18. 45 on a Friday we had our starter, very nice , then our main arrived only to be told we had 30 minutes to eat up and vacate the table it certainly put a dampener on our evening and realistically to have a meal with friends in an hour and 15 is beyond reasonable . They need to make the timescale clear when booking, if they had we wouldn’t have come .

What a great experience, The pub is in a great location, well looked after inside and out. And has ample parking received a warm welcome from the staff, seated straight away and served with drinks in no time. The food is to die for I had a Thai red curry which I could only describe to my partner as a little bowl of heaven, the chicken was tender the curry sauce had so much flavour, my partner had drunken noodles which although a little spicy for her liking she enjoyed thoroughly. The staff even though very busy were attentive and friendly at all times. I’m looking forward to my next visit and take away meals from there.

"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."
