"This is a lovely pub in a great setting we had visited a few years ago. The staff were friendly, the pub was warm inviting there was a comprehensive lunchtime menu. My wife is a coeliac has to have gluten-free meals, but the choice was very poor. She could not have a single snack other than a plain salad, as the pub had no gluten-free bread to offer. Most pubs will provide a jacket potato as a safe GF option, but that was supposedly not available. This must be the only pub we we have visited in the UK not offering gluten free bread this is 2023! Gluten free bread, rolls baguettes are readily available can be stored frozen. She eventually had just one option, to eat a curry main meal. Vegetarians Vegans make a choice to eat their diet but Coeliacs have no choice. This was an extremely disappointing experience, especially as we were told that the chef was a coeliac!!"

Really good pub grub not over priced so ignore the negative reviews . The fish is straight from Swanage harbour every morning and tastes like it . Lots of local brews love it !

This amazing pub has an extensive variety of draft beers. The food options are diverse and we particularly enjoyed the top-notch baguettes. We dined in the garden with a beautiful view of the sea. It was a delightful experience.

Rude staff who choose to deal with issues in an unkind manner. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice! I have seen a few bad reviews mentioning a female member of staff, the perpetrator here was also female. Not sure if it’s just one bad egg!

Another lovely visit to this great pub. Always a friendly welcome and our two dog's are made to feel at home. Food excellent. Thanks to Steph who once again served a great tasting breakfast to us. We'd like to wish Tom all the very best, we will miss him and I'm sure so will many others. Visualizza piatti

I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch on a lovely day. Unfortunately, the Sunday roast was only average and definitely not worth the £18 price. The cheese ploughman's was terrible, with stale bread and small pieces of cheese that were not enjoyable. The view was fantastic and the ales were good, but the food was disappointing. I think I'll just opt for a bag of crisps on my next visit.

This is a charming pub with friendly staff, but the food is excessively expensive and low-quality. Basic dishes like baguettes and ploughman's were priced at £11 and £14, respectively. The food we received was not as described and had to be returned. The outdoor garden and tented area were dirty at midday, with unclean tables, trash, and cutlery scattered around. This pub has the potential to be great, but it is serving very average food at high prices and relying on its location. Overall, very disappointing.

Unable to reserve a table would seem, understandably, hotel guest get priority so pot luck on getting a table. Garden seating overlooking sea not lit so only small dining area courtyard. Limited menu geared more for lunch. Bar staff, unhelpful unwelcoming, especially with regards to us using a locals glass?!!? It was just a large wine glass however made to feel uncomfortable our fault we had it!! Only positive was delightful waiter who apologised had run out of rice, not that we had ordered anyway! Won’t be going back not recommending. Visualizza piatti

We arrived for a late Sunday lunch and with the nice weather it was busy. Fortunately, there is plenty of parking in the adjacent National Trust car park. The garden was busy so we tried inside the pub and found several tables were free. They have plenty of staff and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we placed our order and the speed of service. We both had salads: one smoked salmon and the other chicken Caesar. Both were very fresh and generous portions with scrumptious wedges of wholemeal bread take an appetite! Look forward to visiting again!

Pub extreemly understaffed. We waited over 10 minutes for anyone 's attention. One barmaid, dirty glasses piling up on the bar. Once seated another long wait for food. Asked the waiter for water which didn 't come. When the young runner brought out our roasts he didn 't bring and condiments. Managed to catch the waiter and asked again for the water, mustard, and extra gravy. He looked exasperated and asked if we 'd asked the runner for mustard. I told him the young lad had disappeared without checking if we had everything. He snapped and asked if we knew how busy they were! To add insult to injury, we were then charged £1.50 for the extra gravy!!! Luckily the roast was pretty good and the co...

"We had the best time here on Saturday lunch. We arrived early to a quiet restaurant and were greeted by super friendly and well informed staff, who made us feel at ease and explained their new ‘small plates’ menu. Our kids were given a nice menu with colouring in and nothing seemed too much to ask for. We decided to let our 4 and 6 year old order from their kids menu and hoped they would try some of our dishes too. The menu really is very appealing, so much so that the 3 adults ended up ordering EVERY dish they had on the menu in the end! I think it was 16 various dishes of meats, fish, veggies and pasta’s. All homemade and with a really modern vibe. Our waitress was soo good at making us feel at ease we had the best time. A few dishes were ordered and came out really fast we were overjoyed at how beautiful they looked, and the flavours we so well balanced and punchy we got really giddy and decided to order all of the other dishes and just share them all out. Have to say each dish was a triumph, my favourite was the pork ‘burnt ends’ with sweet and sour carrots and a mustard sauce, my partners was the pointed cabbage dish with sesame, my mothers the beetroot and goats cheese crispy ball. They all were delicious, and our kids tried loads of new things like a crab pasta and a cheesey focaccia. It seems like they really thought these little dishes out soo well, temperatures, textures, colours, flavours, elegance we’ve not had anything like this outside of London. So, 16 plates in, plus the kids had their main course… we were all full up, felt like we’d been on a culinary adventure. And then we were offered something sweet okay maybe we were just being greedy, maybe we just couldn’t resist not trying more?! The kids had a ‘build your own dessert’ of ice cream and sauces and sprinkles and cake bits looked great but sadly only for kids! We had their ‘sweet things’, kind of like large petit fours. Chocolatey cake balls, salted caramel truffles and tart passion fruit jellies all were amazing! By the time we left, the restaurant was really busy and I can see why we will most certainly be coming again! Thank you!"
