The food for dinner was simply excellent. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area. Free parking on site and good value too.

Food was good. A bit expensive. Waiting staff were definitely new to the job and needed some prompting and guidance. Would consider going there again if I was ever back in Lampeter

Staying at this well maintained old market town building was a dream. Comfortable room with everything you want. Clean and well presented. The twin room had been refurbished and done to a high spec for a pub hotel.

Good choice of food, not cheap but it was good plentiful, service was also good helpful. We were able to take our time no rush gave up plenty of time to chat with friends we hadn't seen for many years they live in...Norfolk we live in Mumbles.

oitside looks like a traditional pub, but what excellent service, great tasting eating and a beautiful environment. nice lunch on Sunday, was in the position to take our dog in the bar, but restorative remained seperate for a perfect environment. I hope to go back to Wednesday for. our 20-year anniversary meal only the 2 of us

We heard about this curry night that was taking place in the Black Lion Hotel, only a choice of 2 curries and the food was poorly presented. The Chicken Tikka reminded me of primary school meals and chewing on the rice was like chewing on...rubber pellets. Unlike the Chicken Tikka the Beef Madras was inedible, hard chunks of meat as dry as the workers responses. The curry night was meant to be an all you can eat, clearly not as we only each received one plate of food. £20 was not worth what we received. Waiters were slow and looked as if they had no idea what they were doing, to sum this experience up in one word it was a Disaster

first, the good point: the front of the house staff was nice, as we have found about all that we have met in this attractive part of wales, and the restaurant area is attractive and seemed clean. but, we visited the black lion because of it. a local has been recommended, and mainly gets good reviews. our experience with eating (and others can not agree) was that we were served two of the worst restaurants we had ever served. I had bark lasagne (blande, tasteless and very bad quality) and my wife had sausages and maic to be fair, said the waitress before that the sausages were not cumberland or something special, but these tasted like the cheapest müll, and the maische was an undedible stampf...
