"Despite all the good reviews we were really disappointed. Taking a late booking we arrived to be told that there were only two portions of carvery left as they had been very busy, we were then told if they were running out then they usually phoned those who have booked. We received no such courtesy. The staff must have been really tired from their busy afternoon because we had to wait for an hour before seeing any food. We didn't order a dessert (much to my grandson's disappointment) simply because we didn't have another hour to be mucked about. The food was in decent sized portions but the quality was distinctly average. Prices are about what one would expect. Unlikely we shall visit again I hope they can up their game. the second time when it comes here and every time it was excellent. the first time had the fixed price menu fantastic deal. sukkulent lobster and prawn cocktail and 2 drinks. also had the Sunday roast beef and it was simply delicious, and again really good value. the staff could not be more friendly, helpful and efficient. will definitely be with the dog for a garden dinner in the sunshine.
