"Disappointing Customer Service I recently attempted to visit for a meal but was unfortunately turned away by the staff members. I was wearing my work gear at the time, and instead of being treated with respect and hospitality, I felt like an outsider. The staff members gave me unwelcoming looks and made me feel uncomfortable. As someone who values good customer service, I was highly disappointed with how I was treated. Regardless of one's attire, every customer deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. While I cannot comment on the food or overall dining experience, I wanted to share my encounter with the staff members. It is essential for any establishment to prioritize customer service, ensuring that all guests feel welcome and valued. I hope that this feedback can be taken constructively and work towards creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers."

"Was an interesting experience. Not the traditional Thai restaurant many will be use to. They are more of an luxury authentic Thai experience not expected in Alton definitely similar to some London restaurants. The food is amazing but does take a while to be served as cooked fresh. For my teens the was menu restricted as they are use to pad Thai, authentic prawn crackers, red curry, massaman, panang etc. with the option of having the dishes with chicken. Menu is great for seafood lovers including myself. For me the restaurant is perfect for a date night or with groups of adults. The price of the dishes is on the higher end, this is expected as using good quality ingredients and really well presented dishes. I did miss the prawn crackers and the option to have flat rice noodles. 4 starters, 4 mains and drinks came to around £120. Two teens and two adults. Definitely will go again. You should try it. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5"

"Was very excited to visit the pub after reading the reviews posted on here last night being 7th March although it was early doors came away a little disappointed. The barman/ waiter appeared to be the only person on duty and really dressed for the occasion. He was polite and friendly but stretched we placed our order waited it arrived. One fish dish and one meat dish great emphasis was place on bringing us our jus to accompany our meal. My plate consisted of rubber cold french beans a splodge of equally cold pea puree although the lamb was cooked to perfection as were the very small portion of potatoes, my husband fish equally as good but was accompanied by the same red meat jus as mine and noticed when leaving most of the restaurant had. (it was very similar to bisto) we asked to see the desert menu it eventually arrived but was then left for a considerable amount of time as the conversation at the bar was a little more important needless to say we paid and left so a little uncertain about a return visit. To sum things up the meal was mediocre if not a little petite lacked vegetables and tepid. Really had this down as our nxt fav restaurant in Alton ."

"First time back here since it reopened. Needs softening. Flowers on tables, take a few out to unclutter. Food good and staff very friendly. Would go back. Need to tidy up outside, didn't look open. Just little things but it would help to get people through the door. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice and a couple of vegan options. Price per person: £80–90 Food: 4"

"I now live in the USA, but I grew up in Farringdon and have seen many owners of this pub come and go over the years. I have fond memories of sitting with my parents and siblings, sipping lemonade and eating cheese onion crisps in the pub garden every summer. Each landlord has brought their own distinct flair to The Rose Crown--the pub has always been a steady, consistent village staple. The current owners seem very welcoming and friendly, and have introduced regular special events that I don't think existed before to create community and belonging--quiz nights, Gin Wednesdays, a themed New Year's Eve event, etc. Sadly, I didn't manage to eat here during my short stay--they were closed for a private party on the one night I tried to have dinner there. Wish I'd been able to--the dining room was full every time I was there, and the food looked and smelled delicious. But my family went several times over the holidays for drinks, and it was everything a village pub should be--cozy and welcoming, with good beer and friendly staff. The music was a little loud the first time we went, but other than that, everything was great."
