Food delicious and staff excellent..highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely evening meal for couples or small groups

Had a lovely meal. First time visit. All meals we had we all liked. The roast beef was lovely. The steak was amazing. We would visit again. Service was excellent.

Booked well ahead for a table of 4 arrived 10 mins early, advised table not ready and had to wait never got he table to 8.20pm then we got rushed to move from our table if we wanted to have tea and desserts. Pretty poor really disappointed with the service. food was lovely as always really guys rushing your customers. Not very impressive.

The restaurant was extremely loud. We were seated next to a large group of noisy men on one side and another loud group behind us. The atmosphere was very rowdy and geared towards a male clientele. We had to shout and repeat ourselves just to have a conversation while eating our dinners. The waitress apologized and mentioned that it is not typically that loud, but it was still disappointing, especially since we were there to celebrate a birthday. Despite the noise, the food was excellent.

We decided to try out the Tomahawk Thursday deal at the restaurant and had a fantastic lunch. While waiting for the main course, we shared a delicious warm loaf of bread that was fluffy and perfectly paired with salted butter and oil/vinegar. The tomahawk steak, chips, and onion rings were all cooked to perfection, with the garlic butter adding a wonderful touch. The service was excellent - friendly and efficient. After looking for a good Sunday lunch in Glasgow, we were unfortunately let down. The ambiance and welcome were pleasant, but the roast beef was a disappointment. Despite asking for it to be cooked as rare as possible, the beef was overcooked, tough, and thinly sliced. The vegetables were good, but the potatoes were lacking, the gravy was average, and the Yorkshire puddings were very good. The two bottles of wine we ordered were fine, but we were not happy with the 15% service charge, considering the wine was not consistently poured by the serving staff. While it is a nice restaurant to visit, we would not be returning after our recent experience.

We recently went to The Butchers Shop for dinner whilst we were visiting Glasgow last week from Jersey following the recommendation from a friend. We could not recommend it enough. We had the Porters steak to share which was cooked Medium Rare and it just melted in our mouths. The Macaroni Cheese side was probably the best I have ever tasted and the freshly baked bread that was still warm was just delicious. To top it all the staff were amazing and attentive making sure that we had everything that we needed at all times. So we were originally meant to be a table of 7 unfortunately 2 were unable to make it, it was a surprise birthday treat for a friends birthday, she knew she was heading out with one of the girls but wasn’t expecting the rest of us. The table we had booked wasn’t ready as they were still waiting for the previous party to vacate and we were asked to sit at the bar, the three of us nervous we wouldn’t get balloon decorations ready for the birthday girl !
