"After reading reviews on here my son and I decided to visit on our way home. Really lovely old pub. It was a very, very hot day but the inside of the pub remained cool. The staff were amazing incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was great we opted for the Sunday 3 course menu. Starter Prawn Cocktail stunning. Really different presentation and lots of it. Son had breaded mushrooms again very fresh and tasty. We both had roast good sized portions and fresh not frozen veg. Cauliflower cheese very tasty. Desserts we had were chocolate fudge cake and waffles. The waffles were listed as with caramel sauce but had the extra addition of strawberries which made them lovely. Ice cream and cream Again great presentation."

The liver and bacon dish had an incredible aroma and tasted delicious. Highly recommend trying it.

Lovely welcoming staff. Good food. But 2 Vegetarians had no choice of main didn't enjoy their meal. Great having a room to ourselves 14 of us was good we had 2 little ones with us) We hope to return.

Rang to make a booking and was told they were fully booked, went elsewhere and ended up in the D&D to watch the 6 nations match about an hour later, there was only 6-7 people in the whole pub including the staff

This restaurant is a cozy little place with very friendly staff and delicious food. The prices are reasonable and there is a nice atmosphere in the pub. I even stayed all night to watch the boxing match and see AJ win!

I recently enjoyed a delicious burger for lunch. The homemade slaw and fries were also very tasty. My companion particularly enjoyed the Neck Oil ale from Beavertown Brewery. The staff was friendly and provided great service. We will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic experience at this pub with friendly staff and patrons. We met up with our daughter and her family for a meal before they went on vacation. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We want to express our gratitude to The Dog and Duck for being such a fantastic pub and for making us feel so welcome.

Booked sunday lunch for four after travelling from the midlands prior to flying from stansted airport and all i can say is we loved it with all empty plates which if you knew how fussy the wives are speaks volumes ,will definitely return as we seem to fly from stansted often, only shame was we were all too full for desserts which looked superb
