"Very disappointing. 17:30 booking and already low on menu items. Tough duck, tough lamb, slow service and excuses.... sometimes the meat is just like that I 'm sorry but you (as the owner) or your chef should understand the quality of your produce and be sure its of 'food award ' standard before getting to table. A restaurant that has a nice atmosphere bit seems a but samey. Service: Dine in"

"I only visited the Rose and Crown because I received a 30% voucher through the mail. I was pleasantly surprised with our meal, I ordered Scampi and chips, the Scampi was cooked to perfection and the chips were really crispy and tasty so much so I did think about ordering a side of chips as well I will definitely be returning with or without a voucher. Price per person: £10–20"

"Go here regular but very disappointed today! The gentleman who took our food order was pushy about his real chips,,my husband had the large mix grill £24pds I think..he ordered real chips and peppercorn sauce with it..I ordered lamb well cooked..it come and it was blood turned my stomach so much couldn’t eat it..when too find someone as my husband had not had his real chips or his peppercorn sauce..she brought his chips but no sauce!! 10minutes later my food arrives back…burnt lamb in parts i was so disappointed only eat two potatoes and mushrooms..my husband never had his peppercorn sauce the man who takes the orders needs too listen too the orders he’s taking and also come back and see if our food is correct?not have me run around looking for a member of staff…our meals come too £47pounds very disappointed and will not be returning for a while until the man at front of house uses his head a bit and not rush people In too make money!"

"I recently had Sunday roasts at The Gull and they were amazing. The food was great, the ales were superb, and the staff was lovely. It had been a while since I last visited The Gull, but after this experience, I will definitely be back soon. The Sunday roasts were perfect even on a busy day. I recommend trying the Turkey, Beef, or Chicken options, and you can even go for a larger portion with extra meat and a huge Yorkshire Pudding. They also have daily specials on the menu throughout the week, as well as a separate sports bar area with pool, darts, and big TVs. Additionally, there is outside seating and a large car park available. The Gull is a well-run Marstons Brains venue that I highly recommend visiting."

"We went here for my birthday meal out and to do the quiz but it ended with both my mother and myself in tears due to the downright rudeness of the lady manager. Yes, we were late after 3 cars all driving from various locations in Wales (and not being able to park anywhere close enough for my disabled dad and pregnant sister but we did try to ring ahead only for no one to answer. Seabass was ordered off the menu and, on arrival, tasted nothing like Seabass. The waitress then said they were out of the usual Seabass so had given me the special in a disgustingly salty paprika sauce. We explained that this was not what we thought we'd ordered and she said she'd send the manager over. Rather than apologise for their error, she started shouting at me for being late. It was the final straw after an incredibly stressful day with our autistic children in all the traffic jams and so I got up and left. The others enjoyed their meal but at the end, my mum thanked the waitress (who was lovely! for removing the Seabass from the bill, only for the manager to come and put it back on! I work in hospitality myself and we would never dream of doing this! My family had left a sizeable tip for the waitress but mum felt that if she was being charged for a meal that I'd literally had 2 mouthfuls off that she'd have to use the tip to cover it. The manager than accused mum of being mean for removing the poor waitress's tip when technically it was her that had done so. In contrast, we've come to a lovely accommodating place this evening who actually know how to treat their guests. Would definitely avoid if you're likely to be late as you will get told off like a naughty child!!"
