"Thanks to Qype for getting us to this little gastropub tucked away behind the main shopping area of Exeter. We were just passing through and found a rumbly in our tumblies and had no idea where to stop. We found The Fat Pig to have an adequate menu for budgets and diets. I had the pork belly roast £10) and a Malbec, while my veggie friend had a gorgeous salad. We both enjoyed our meals and service. The pub itself has a nice range of booze behind the bar. I can imagine it would be a good place to get a drink. Based on it's location, I wonder what kind of crowd it gets on the weekend. There are no TVs, so it is not your usual loud crowd pub for sports events. All in all, it was a perfect stop with ample paid) parking just across the street."

a rather average culinary experience. my partner was disappointed by the lack of vegan options. I found it hard work with workers dressed in silly comedy supervisors. I will not be rushed back.

beautiful place where we had a few drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. they make their own beer, they smoke their own flesh, they are very friendly and eager to serve them some of their best creations.

We throughly enjoyed our meal last night. Lydia, our waitress, was on her second shift and she was attentive and delightful. The atmosphere was great, even with restrictions, the owner came over and was equally attentive, making sure we had everything we needed! We will be back again!

her Sunday roast is valid for tradition and the right meat, veg and yorkshire pudding with a healthy portion of good heavy, and served with the appropriate sauce (apple for pork, mint for lamb) on the side. the swarm is particularly rewarding, because they lift their own pigs for this and in their sister restaurant, the rusty bike! and their obsession with swarms is clear: funny little statuettes and artworks are scattered around the cozy dining room. so duh! go with the dick, they have a pint and have a jolly good time.

Tucked away in a back-street, near the Corn Exchange, this is a gem of a pub. Three beers on hand-pump, a real cider and the first time I've seen Holsten Export on draught in I don't know how many years.... The Exeter Brewery's Avocet and Ferryman were in good nick, but the real highlight was the rather drunk bloke at the counter who proceeded to spill his bowl of soup all over himself and the floor. Comedic genius. Food looked and smelled good. The barman suggested that we should try the Hour Glass pub near the river, he wasn't wrong.

I was looking for somewhere near to eat for the holiday inn express in tudor street. that was only a few minutes away. I hope it's okay and it was. mix from groups here some perhaps visitors like us are most local. that was a good sign, and we have ordered a few with some West Landes-Ziegern norcott obst apfelwein new and a cornish haze. starter were homemade suppe and halloumi fries. excellent and well presented. the mains were sweet cakes with maic and the other sausage and maic. comfortable and very essential meals. in fact, the cake is very considerable. so much that no dessert was required. great staff here very friendly and definitiw ones back to

This pub serves great food I mean really lovely, and has a good atmosphere. I have some reservations because I think the bar staff are just too confident and relaxed taking agggges over making a cocktail whilst others wait an unacceptable time for their drinks (this has happened to me twice). My main criticism is the silly little stools come on, to pay decent money for very lovely food yet be perched on stools instead of a comfortable chair it just makes everyone think 'Where are we going next? '. The pub is also very small and can feel a bit claustrophobic when busy, but having said all of this it is an asset to the city and I would recommend a visit!

This is a modern pub.done very well in my view. I had a pint of ale called Reservoir Dogs from a brewery called Cottage Breweryand it was possibly the best pint I had had in Exeter. The other two ales that were on were unknown to me too, so I wish I could have stayed a bit longer! The décor is simple and modern, with the highlight being and incredibly cosy looking back room (lit by daylight , down towards the toilets. The pub serves foodin fact it refers to itself as a gastropub.but thankfully it doesn't have the food first feel that many gastro pubs do. The pub name might put me off eating here though, unless I go for a salad : Can get ridiculously busy when people get hungry. It is better...

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
