"a half quiet and small restaurant. the eating was quite good and the ambiente was friendly, casual, at home like. the staff was friendly and always busy. a bit too busy to time, as we had to wait a bit too long between the curses and get them to the table, took a few waves. only 2 employees. a beautiful place and I would return."

"This was the second time I had been for lunch there in 4 days. We had booked both times. On Friday there were two of us but we waited 40 mins for our lunch to be served but were given coffees on the house to compensate for the wait. I did put our wait down to the fact that a lot of people were having the Christmas menu which was pre-ordered so they didn't have to wait too long for theirs and we were ordering from the ordinary menu. Today there were six of us booked in for 1.00pm. Again there was quite a wait for our starters and once we'd finished them we then had a good 25-30 mins wait for our main courses. We couldn't put this down to people having the pre-booked Christmas menu as it is not offered on a Monday. In fact we were at first given the Sunday menus as the staff had not changed them to the weekday menus! One of the main courses was returned as the beef was so tough the person wasn't able to cut it. I ordered a coffee after the mains and there was one pudding ordered. My coffee took more than 10 mins to arrive and after another long wait we cancelled the pudding order and asked for the bill. The cost of the beef was deducted but there was no apology for the long waits. We won't be going back."

"What a fantastic evening we've had at Suan Thai. The service and food was excellent. Really good banter with the waiters. They created us a bespoke starter platter as there were 7 of us. Drinks were flowing and food was lovely and hot and very tasty. What a surprise to receive a birthday cake from the restaurant. Such a nice gesture. We will certainly be back. Thanks for a great evening."

"was totally impressed in a group of seven for a Sunday dinner. service was excellent, with drinks coming immediately, order quickly taken, and eating arrived quickly. Between us we had only roasts (3 x bark, 2 x huh and 2 x nuts), so can not comment on much else, but eating was great. huge portions of the main, a hauch of delicious veg (with an additional tastiness of some wee pickled tweepers,) perfectly crispy roast whips, and of course a yorkshire pudding! puddings were also great. I enjoyed the lemon tart and had massive apples and brombeer jealous. the selection of beer on the tap is excellent and well maintained, and a more than sufficient weinlist to match any taste. would certainly recommend. many thanks to all for a nice time"

"I recently attended the wedding of my nephew. The food served looked very nice but I unfortunately didn't get to taste it. The food was served on platters for four peopleI was sat with a group of five. After the others had served themselves. I asked one of the servers, could you bring some more food as we were a group of five. I was looked at like I was stupid, and the next time I saw staff was when the plates were cleared. So I had no food. It's disgraceful, really. Also, the bar only had one member of staff and the queue for drinks was ridiculous, as was the price at £8.00 for a pint of the worst beer I have ever tasted. £4.50 for a 300ml bottle of lemonade."
