"The greyhound has a lovely setting by the ponds, great you can park the car. But the food was very average. Particularly disappointing was the kids meals. The kids roast was ok, but the kids ‘fish and chips’ consisted of fish fingers rather than fish as you’d expect in ‘fish and chips’ and was such a tiny portion, 3 tiny fingers of fish. Not a vegetable in sight, no peas, no nothing, and it was £10! My 10 year old was disappointed, this was suited to perhaps a 5 year olds meal. If serving fish fingers, call it fish fingers. And serve something with it aside from just chips, too tight to add in some peas or beans it seems. Adult roasts again were average and ok, wouldn’t rush back, and so expensive. I had the pie, served in a bowl, with gravy at the bottom, chips swimming in the gravy and a pie sitting on top, impossible to cut and eat. Who serves a pie in a bowl and who wants chips under a pie swimming in gravy. Just weird. Sticky toffee for desert was a good portion and tasty but the lemon meringue tart, although delicious, was such a tiny tiny slice! More a slither. The bill for 5 of us was £163, that’s with 1 Guinness and 3 soft drinks, plus food of 5 mains (2 of which were kids meals! and 5 deserts plus 2 starters. 3 adults and 2 kids. Standard of food does not live up to the price tag. Service was good though! But I’d advise checking out other local establishments first, both for price and quality. It was also 4 degrees outside and they had the air con on rather than any heating. They did turn it off when asked but it remained cold in there."

Really good breakfast, for five of us. My five year old was so spoilt too. The food was great lots of options and really well priced for breakfast. Will go again

This charming pub has a fantastic menu and a wonderful staff that is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for a meal or even just a drink. An added bonus is the ample parking available.

as family of 6 we ate in one of the heated wood huts. the personal was welcoming and the service was excellent. everything was ordered and paid via the app and it worked very well. I would recommend the sea bass, very tasty, although might have been a bit warmer. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for food, hospitality and also price-quality ratio. Thank you.

Had the beef and ale pie for dinner and it was lovely. Plenty of meat and gravy with vegetables. I would definitely recommend it. The Greyhound staff were very friendly and efficient and I could see they were working very hard. The Pub had a friendly atmosphere and was clean and tidy and the location was great too. Opposite were the Carshalton Ponds and the shops were nearby so it would be a nice place to stay.

As soon as you walk into The Greyhound you are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are friendly, efficient and hard working. The food is excellent. Stayed overnight and the room was clean, tidy and comfortable and quiet considering The Greyhound is on a busy road. Excellent public transport with easy access to central London. Pub is located opposite Carshalton ponds and park with shops nearby. Would highly recommend this pub/hotel and cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you Anne Marie and Colum for making our 2 night stay so memorable.

my family and I had last night a beautiful meal in greyhound. it is the first time that we have been out for a year and we celebrated our daughters who completed her ma (with a first! so was the pressure to make it special! we were not disappointed. the location is simply beautiful and we had a heated outdoor dining pad for our family. the staff are so friendly and friendly and efficient and eating was absolutely skrumbling! rich portions, really well cooked, elaborated and presented. it could not have been a better evening for us, and we will be back soon. well made greyhound and we will see you soon!

"Hello...We met up with friends the table that we were allocated was in the middle of a war zone with children screaming and swearing. After a ten minutes we asked for another table as we could not hear ourselves talk above the chaos. We were shown to another table upstairs and this was better as we could hold a conversation. We ordered our meals and drinks and waited and waited eventually the starters arrived cold followed by the main meals which we had not even started !!!! One meal full rack of ribs and one steak were of a reasonable quality, the other two meals fish and chips were floating in oil and uneatable. My friends fish contained NO FISH just batter was this a joke ? I went to see the manager and brought him back to our table after seeing the table littered with starters and main meals he offered to replace the two fish and chips which was too late by now, our evening was spoilt and a disaster. Credit to the manager as he could see our disbelief on what had happened and waived the bill totally, this did not make up for the evening. We left and went to another establishment which turned out to be able to offer the evening we had hoped that your establishment could carry out without out all the above problems. This is not the first time this has happened the last time was in The Plough Sutton common road branch check you emails and you will see the problems we had there which were very similar. All in all things need to change unless us older fraternity are not required at your restaurants in future just the mob handed families and screaming children are welcome. Thank you if you read this and understand what is going on in your establishments"
