The Mill At Rode - Piatti

We’ve been to the Mill at Rode now twice since the new menu was launched. Both times have been great and it’s well worth a visit!

Excellent Sunday lunch five varied tastes all very well catered for. Puddings hit the spot perfectly. Daisy and the Mill corkscrew is efficiency personified.

GREAT PLACE! Not only is it a gorgeous place to visit, the service and food were top notch. Could not fault either in the slightest. After 5hours of travel this was a hidden gem that we found and would love to return. Cannot thank the staff enough for an amazing visit. Visualizza piatti

Food was OK although too expensive. We were there for Sunday lunch and chose the chicken and beef, selection of vegetables was good but one very thin slice of beef and a chicken drumstick was stingy. Desert was very nice, we would probably go back although price might put us off.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner for our work party yesterday! The staff was excellent and very helpful, and the dining room looked wonderfully festive and beautiful. The highlight was definitely the delicious Christmas dinner and the salted caramel tart was out of this world! The private dining area was ideal for our large group and we had a fantastic time.

Nice Sunday roast, went for the Mill Roast which is a combo of both meats. I would say expensive for £22 for a small portion of chicken and one small piece of beef. The veges were nice, I like mine al dente but the greens were very under. I'm glad we tried but I think for value, quantity and quality there are many others that offer something a little better in the area. Visualizza piatti

This is more than just a regular pub! The setting is fantastic, whether you sit inside or out. The staff are so friendly and attentive, and the food is divine the chefs are apparently locally famous. I believe they have lots of live music and other interesting events on. It's like a mix of a local pub and a fine dining establishment. And they love dogs which gets my vote any day of the week.

We were very disappointed and disgusted with our experience at this restaurant. We were a party of 8 who had travelled from Lyme Regis and Swindon to meet as a family for Christmas. Unfortunately, my Father found a large caterpillar cooked into his shredded Cavello Nero. We reported this to the waiter, who took the plate away to confirm with the chef. The waiter came back to confirm the incident, but only provided the excuse that they use organic vegetables and this can happen. The waiting staff tried their best to resolve the issue, but the chef or management did not make themselves visible to apologize. The Christmas decoration and atmosphere at this pub are fantastic and set the stage for a great evening. We were excited to try the dishes from the Christmas Party Menu, with many of us opting for the Ballotine of bronze turkey. The turkey looked and tasted amazing, but we were disappointed with the portion size and the absence of vegetables. We had assumed that side dishes like carrots and sprouts would be served, but we were told that what was on our plate was all we would get: 2 slices of turkey, 1 pig in blanket, a small roast potato, and a medium roast parsnip with a drizzle of juniper jus.
