"Been twice before and was singing its praises. Took another couple there to experience it. Luckily for me the menu had not changed great I thought. I will have exactly what I had 2 weeks ago. Ordered whitebait again and so did my companion, tasted great but we must have shared a portion this time. Oh the special lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes still on looking forward to that. Service very slow had to ask when was the food coming, when it did turn up the potatoes where boiled and some lamb flakes had been pressed into a circular shaped ring. we were not late diners but it felt like I had the last of the bits). It tasted Ok but what a disappointment over the last visit. From my first visit on the desert menu the crepes are not crepes be warned. Numerouse great food outlets in and around Ross so I 'll be going to them next Friday."

"Walked in, asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside we chose outside, ordered our food at the bar, waited 45 minutes for it to arrive, people that arrived after us were served before us which we found odd. Food arrived, my mum had beef lasagne i had bangers and mash, my mums lasagne contained no beef, one slice of pasta, all the rest was cheese sauce, took the lasagne back to the bar and complained, so the bar staff took it back to the kitchen, the kitchen staff insisted it was beef, we even asked the waitress where was the beef, she even said she couldn't see it, the table opposite us, had the beef lasagne as well and said it was all cheese sauce, no meat, my mum was offered another dish but she didn't fancy waiting another 45 minutes for something else, the so called beef lasagne she had tasted good but wasn't what she had ordered I had the bangers and mash, the sausages didnt taste like pork and the mash was lumpy and the gravy was like water. Previously we come here in the evening and have ordered the same dishes and they've been delicious so we are disappointed with the standard and service we received on this day We will be giving this place a wide birth for a while"

"While staying at the nearby Little Gaerfields Holiday barn, we decided to order a takeaway roast dinner and pudding for 13 adults and 5 children on Sunday, September 24. The meal included options for both vegetarian and gluten-free guests. The food was delicious, with tender meat, generous servings of vegetables, and lots of flavorful gravy. The puddings were also scrumptious. We highly recommend this service. Thank you, Claire. The price per person ranged from £10 to £20."

"Booked for Sunday lunch when we arrived 10 minutes before booked time was told our table was in use! Became available after about 20-25 minutes. Ordered starter and main long wait for starter and an even longer wait for mains. When mains arrived mine was cold had to be sent back. Decided not to stay for a desert. Not impressed, would not recommend for a Sunday lunch, Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot"

"First and last meal we had at the Hostelrie. The food was subpar and absolutely not worth the price, meat was extremely fatty and the rest of the food was bland. The worst thing about the Hostelrie is the staff. I’ve never come across such rude and passive aggressive people. The manager, who I assume to be Katherine- the very passive aggressive woman responding to these honest reviews requires some lessons in decorum and basic manners. She is a very unpleasant and unprofessional woman. They served a tiny vegetable ‘platter’ for 4 people, therefore we politely requested another, the waitress responded ‘yes’ and walked away. We received the platter once we had finished the edible parts of our food so we no longer needed it. The waitresses and manager outright lied and claimed we were told there would be a wait on the vegetables and rudely stated we had to pay for it. Believe these reviews and give your money to restaurants that deserve it. There was also only one other table occupied at 3pm on a Sunday before Christmas- says it all really…"
