"After hearing such good reviews about this place we thought we’d try it out. We ordered 5 small plates and one main between 4 us. I can’t fault the portion sizes, it’s just a shame about the food quality and the service 3/5 small plates came and then 20 minutes later we had not received the other two small plates plus the main when they finally came after chasing two separate members of staff) the chicken on the main was cold, the garlic bread was burnt and the hummus looked like it was sat open in the fridges for ages couple of days. It was busy and I understand staff were busy but a decent service would have been nice, the staff looked depressed and no smiles what’s so ever, one lady behind the bar stood giving my friend and I such dirty looks while we stood waiting to order. We did get a refund on the main £15) but for a lunch that cost over £100 I was expecting something amazing. Definitely will not be returning."

The food was lovely, had table inside, sun was shining through. Staff were lovely and helpful, even bringing Tony extra butter!!!

Awful experience here. Food took nearly an hour to arrive and when it did it really wasn’t worth it. Try elsewhere there’s nicer places.

Lovely afternoon spent here having a couple of drinks outside. Not rushed and bar staff very welcoming and polite. We didn’t eat but food looked amazing.

I have coeliac disease so have to be very careful where I eat but having spoken to the kitchen staff I felt reassured. On the night they were very attentive and the meal was lovely.

The fact that it was a beautiful day with lovely sunshine added to a very enjoyable lunch. We had Calamari and whitebait with a side serving of skin on chips with rosemary. The chips in particular were very nice.

We visited The Pavillion on the Sands in Broadstairs during our holiday in Kent. We were able to get a table overlooking the Viking Beach. We placed our order for the special deal comprising tea or coffee and a slice of cake. The coffee and cake were served by friendly and helpful staff in good time, which we enjoyed very much.

I am usually happy with the Pavillion. I love the location and usually the food is good. On this occasion I ordered a wrap which was meant to come with salad. There was literally about 5 very small leafs on the plate when I said about there was hardly any salad they said that was it. No cucumber or tomato was very disappointed as I love salad.

Just wanted to say what a fabulous New Years Eve we had here. On arrival I mentioned to staff member Sian that I had been unwell and was unable to eat from the set menu. Immediately Sian went to the kitchen and came back within minutes to say chef had an alternative for me. The meal I had was excellent. Sian was exceptionally helpful throughout the evening. All the waiting staff were so friendly and efficient. The rest of my family said their meal was delicious too! Live entertainment was provided by Jack Randle who was brilliant! What a fab way to start the New Year. Thank you

Yet again one of the best views and locations spoiled by poor food with high prices. With service you would expect to be fair from cheap student labour with no experience, rapport or knowledge, eg clearing one persons plate whilst others are eating. My daughters fish must have been related to the sardine family, it was that small and tasted far too fishy . Ceaser salad dressing came out of a tube, I know because a friend works in the same group as a chef. The burger was rock hard, and the reason why is because they cannot be cooked medium or rare because the ingredients need to be cooked within an ounce of their lives. Chips cold too, again these are batched cooked and left on the hot plate...

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
