"Not been here for ages and think its maybe changed owners a couple of times since our last visit. The decor is good, not fussy, just clean lines and comfortable furniture/furnishings. Dog friendly and the pub dog an excellent example of well behaved pooch! We...didn't have a booking, but there was a table free for a couple of hours before the reservation and we only wanted a main course, so staff happily accommodated us. Varied menu with plenty of things we enjoy so we were spoilt for choice. There was also a specials menu and as it was Sunday, there were roasts or braised pheasant. Not something you see everyday and something I ordered and really enjoyed. Veges were perfectly cooked. Hubbie had chicken carbonara, he said it was the best he had ever had and I will have to step up my game next time I cook it for us indoors! Portions huge, so I couldn't try a dessert, but I'm certainly not complaining. Didn't need to eat again today. Staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. We will be back. So will everybody else we think, so make sure you book!"

"Visited Ganders in St Helens for lunch today, our first visit though won’t be our last. The welcome we received was lovely and our experience got even better whilst we were there. The menu is varied so plenty to choose from, we chose a fish dish which was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, served with amazing roast potatoes, so crispy with a divine soft centre plus a selection of steamed veggies and tartar sauce. All beautifully presented, very much enjoyed with a glass of white wine. For dessert we chose the pavlova and sticky toffee pudding both of which were truly yummy. Thank you Ganders for a wonderful meal and for the great service we received. 5 star for sure."

"Spotless cafe environment overlooking Bembridge harbour, which has expanded it's eating area inside since I last visited. Food has consistently been excellent on several visits over the past few years, and I recommend anyone to give it a visit. The crab salad is divine. I've read some comments about service quality, but found it to be prompt and consistent with other cafes I've visited. If you want swanky, then go to a restaurant but be prepared to pay 50% more for the same thing."

"What a find. We had been looking forward to this and were pleased to be able to rebook as our initial booking was cancelled due to the Great British weather . Can 't fault this place. Super smiley staff and menu full of tasty treats. We went for the fishy picnic and the crab salmon salad. I could quite happily have eaten the bisque all day. Stunning flavours. Our lunches both had a delicious side salad not a limp leaf in sight (unlike so many places that dish up a sorry excuse for a salad. Went for a dessert as well and these were also excellent. We 've been coming to the IOW for the last 3 years and have eaten at many of the 'best ' restaurants on the island as well as the mainland and can honestly say this is by far the best meal we 've had on the IOW and one of the best lunches we 've ever had . We will definitely be back to try out some of the other choices and cocktails too Lovely to go somewhere that is clearly fuelled by a passion for excellent food and service ."

"Parents came over for a visit. We visited The Vine Inn three times. Mum and dad loved the value for money offer two dine for £10. The said the pub reminded them of the TV series Heart beat,with its views over looking the green. How the locals are so friendly and helpful. The last night before mum and dad had to return home we went for our evening farewell meal. Dad and I had the homemade steak and ale pie with redwine gravy. My dad said it 's the best he has ever had and then some. The pastry was devine, no soggy bottoms here! It was packed with succulent tender beef. Well done to the chef 's, bar staff and manger. Keep going as you are. Steve and I will continue to visit and make it our local. Top place,top people."
