Huge portions but tastless fish Coffee stewed and dreadful. Used to be nice food here. Old dirty looking carpets . Outdated washrooms Disappointing Much nicer places around

Very disappointed, I went to the resurant last summer with my daughter had fish chips, went back this week it was awful the resurant itself looked very dirty carpets were sticky and worn toilets were the same had fish chips mushy peas the fish was dry the outside eating area was dirty with last night's food on the floor we won't be returning.

New to the area we attempted to contact pub/restaurant by phone on a warm Saturday afternoon and no-one would pick up so we chanced a visit and was glad that we did. Loads of space indoors and out, excellent friendly staff, great atmosphere, a good selection of 'beers ' and the food that we had was also very good. We will be returning for more Visualizza piatti

Visited at 6.30 in a Saturday and it was packed. Fortunately we’d reserved a table. We both had fish and chips which was a huge portion. The fish was ok, not a great deal of taste. Wine was £15 a bottle which was reasonable. Staff were all very polite. What spoilt it was the ladies toilets. The smell was absolutely disgusting and in much need of a refurb. Will I visit again? I very much doubt it.

Been here several times and it never fails to impress. Two had fish and chips, one brisket baguette and one the burger. 2 fish were beautiful, baguette was amazing but burger just got an OK. I'll have the baguette next time if it's on special that's for sure. I do think the toilets could do with checking regularly though, they weren't that clean. This is an excellent place to eat. As a group of 9 we were unsure if we would be able to sit together as we hadn't booked. We were shown into a little snug just the right size for our group. The two young men who served us could not have been more helpful and never once made us feel rushed even though they were very busy. The food was excellent, from huge battered fish, slow cooked belly pork and poached cod, to a ham baguette served with chips and salad, everything was fresh, piping hot and plentiful. Apparently the ham is cooked on the premises and those who had it said it was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and I would highly recommend The Queens Head, Watnall as a place to eat.

Oh dear, what 's happened to the Queens 's Head? Always so dependable for good food and value for money, especially the fish and chips and steak and ale pie. But on our last two visits, (both this month), we have left feeling very disappointed. For the second time there was no steak and ale pie. So second choice of Lasagne sorry, no lasagne , third choice two Barnsley Chops, a little underwhelming in size and not quite what is normally associated with this cut of lamb, one was also a little on the tough side. As a group of ex colleagues, we've been meeting up here about 4 times a year on a Monday night for at least 10 years. The food has never disappointed and we've always stayed for the fun quiz afterwards. We've always booked a table in advance as it's a busy night. Last night was our first visit of the year, the table was pre booked, the food was enjoyed, and we were ready for the quiz. And there ended our night we were asked to leave as the table was needed for a group of quizzers who sit there every week!
