"Food was served very quickly and waiting staff were excellent, and after attending a wedding here and experiencing amazing food, we thought we would try it for Sunday lunch. The starter Whitebait was good, however the Sunday lunch was very disappointing. I asked for my beef medium as I am pregnant and it was still ****. Both meals had one meagre slice of very fatty beef. Broccoli was almost raw, as was the cauliflower cheese. Huge amounts of carrot on the plate and potatoes were really not great. Yorkshire’s were fab though. Very disappointing as we had such high hopes, but the staff were excellent and very apologetic and offered us something else, and neither of which meals were charged for"

The food was inedible. The jerk chicken was extremely overcooked and the chilli was very salty, also inedible

Need to book a table outside in the summer and inside in the winter to get a good atmosphere. Really nice when eating and drinking outside during the warm evenings. Much advisable is to book early through the internet. Really easy to modify the change if you change your mind about your date

Service was slow despite there being very few diners in. Supposed hot starter of baked St Michelin cheese was stone cold got sent back waitress did deduct from bill but obviously this meant that diners were eating starters at different times so not good for the general vibe or ambience. Portions were quite small. Flavours were quite nice albeit too salty disappointed and would not return

Lovely setting besides the king's Lynn quay, clean and with lots of character. Table settings a little basic. The food portions were excellent although my roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was not very hot. Drinks are reasonable price and if you want to splash out they have a good wine cellar. Service was very good and the staff were professional and attentive. The furnishings and decor compliment each other well with antique furniture and some lovely modern art on the walls. I would definitely eat there again

Shame we were the only customers that evening, at least up till when we left. The food and service was good. Shame we were not asked if everything was OK. It was but it is a question that should be asked. The server was not rushed off his feet.As for the statement that the chef had run out of the bread for the Anti Pasti, so would Brioche be OK, that was bad. They were not busy and should have made sure, with limited menu, that they had everything before they start. even keep a loaf in the freezer. These are constructive comments only

"Absolutely delicious! The Filling Station Cafe: I have been to the Filling Station very many times over the last 5 years that I have lived in King 's Lynn. The premises; facilities, staff and food throughout that time have been consistently superb. The high quality of the food/beverages never changes. Always superb. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients and all meals prepared and cooked on the premises, makes for a lovely experience these days when we live in world full of coffee shop chains offering mass produced pre packaged foods. The staff are cheerful, professional, helpful and friendly the staff don 't change either which for me speaks volumes about how they feel at work too there is always a calm yet cheery atmosphere in the Filling Station. The value for money is excellent. Afternoon Tea: In addition I chose the Filling Station for the Catering for my 60th Birthday 'Afternoon Tea ' delivered to a local village hall and for 30 people. It was absolutely superb. Delicious finger sandwiches (5 different fillings); home made individual mini quiches, cheese scones with various toppings sausage rolls. This was all followed by a special request for variety of lemon cookies, Viennese fingers; millionaire slices and flap jacks alongside plain scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. This was all delivered to a venue some 10 miles away and was absolutely superb! Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented! The quality was magnificent and it was superb value for money. I would highly recommend the Filling Station for it 's consistently superb quality; beautiful café; wonderful staff; equally excellent catering service and value for money."
