First thing to mention is how lovely and attentive the staff were .. great atmosphere for Sunday lunch and the food was terrific .. great afternoon and nice that our dog was allowed .. thank you

Riverford Field Kitchen is my favourite restaurant. I have eaten there 4 times and have already booked for this Christmas. Fresh seasonal food cooked to perfection. Fantastic venue and very welcoming staff

Riverford has been on my list for many years. We had a weeks holiday in South Devon and had our last lunch there. Five plus a baby. It was worth the long wait. Great to see a restaurant full for the Christmas Lunch menu. Impressed by such a high quality of service, delivered by a friendly and efficient team the (organic) food, which was exceptional across each of the four courses. £34 pp was really good value. Highly recommended and will be back!

Lovely friendly staff, locally produced organic food all served up in a warm and welcoming restaurant. No wonder that it is nearly always fully booked. If you get the chance book as you will not be disappointed. At £34 for 4 courses it is also excellent value. There is plenty of parking close to the restaurant and dogs are allowed.

A very good meal, but—-no diet tonic! No catering for diabetic needs! Unbelievable they cater for gluten free, and lactose free, but not sugar free. We had a very good lunch overall, but appalled that when we asked for light diet tonic, we were told, “ We don’t cater for diabetics.” This was not just disappointing but irrational , not even sweetener for coffee. The fantastic team at Riverford has a talent for turning ordinary vegetables into extraordinary dishes. The flavors are subtle, the presentation is beautiful, and the menu is creative. We enjoyed the relaxed yet professional atmosphere, the abundance of courses that were continuously served, and the satisfaction of a full meal without feeling stuffed. As vegans, we were thrilled to be able to try the entire menu and still have dessert options. We highly recommend Riverford to anyone looking for a culinary delight.

Riverford is the best of plant based food and, when we are in Devon, we try and get in two visits in a week because it’s so unlike anything that we have at home in Guernsey. The menu is driven by what is available veggie wise on any particular day. The structure is three small plates/starters with sourdough bread, a main course (which has a small amount of meat duck and belly pork on our two visits or vegan and then a choice of fabulous puddings (so you don’t have to feel too sanctimonious; . I have been a longtime fan of this restaurant, but my recent visit left me disappointed and slightly embarrassed after hyping up the experience to my friends. It seems like there may have been some cost-cutting measures implemented, as the service style and meal structure have changed for the worse. Dining here used to be special, but this time it was average and lacking in comparison. The portion sizes and variety of dishes have noticeably decreased. The starters we received were mediocre, served on small plates. The main dishes failed to impress, with only one side dish meeting the old standards.
