"My friend and I visited here after receiving a recommendation from family. The sun was shining and there were several people sat outside but we opted to go inside. The tables are plentiful but it all felt a bit disjointed with two rooms inside, a covered area on the patio so to speak and then a couple of tables by the canal. We opted for an internal room but spent most of the evening in there alone after other customers left which didn’t really lend itself to a good ambiance. The canal, itself, is green and sludgy. Can’t blame that on the pub but disappointing all the same when you look on a map and expect it to be alongside water but that’s our fault for not checking it out. There was an extensive menu plus specials. I opted for the venison burger and my friend had the pork belly. It does explain on the menu that the food is freshly cooked but we waited between 30-45 minutes for our food which seemed rather long. The food was tasty and plentiful but there was no wow factor for me. It was a pleasant evening, the staff were friendly but not really high on our list to return."

This restaurant is incredibly scenic. The pub offers outdoor seating right beside the canal, which is surrounded by trees.

Had heard good reviews about this lovely pub so booked for birthday food. It did not disappoint!! Food was great,staff lovely and a birthday brownie sent out from the kitchen...amazing!! Best of all...the men playing banjos...I couldn't have asked for a better birthday!! Definitely worth a visit..x
