We had another fantastic experience at the Tavern. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was cozy. We have no complaints about this place.

The Sunday lunch was really good my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed I would definitely recommend the roast .

We havent been to the Tavern for ages and we realky enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and worked really hard and the food was delicious. When we arrived, we didnt have to wait and was shown to our table straight away. Would recommend the Tavern.

Called in on off chance at 8.30pm on Christmas Eve as we had travelled up from Devon. Didn't really expect to get served but the lady we met was a delight sorry don't know her name). Did us last minute fish and chips despite set menus all night) and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much.

The food is cooked nicely, but the prices for steaks are quite high. They are priced similar to Miller and Carter, but the quality does not match up. The plates don't match, and the new tannoy system can be a bit off-putting. However, overall the restaurant is pleasant and the staff are very friendly.

Have visited a few times lately and really rated it, so decided to book for Xmas eve. We booked the Xmas menu so had pre chosen our meals. We weren't disappointed, portions excellent (you could opt for a smaller portion), everything seemless, vegetables beautifully cooked, deserts delicious, couldn't fault it, will visit again!!!!!

We had a fantastic afternoon at the Tavern, service was amazing and the food was outstanding. Only heard they did Afternoon Tea when we came for a meal last month, but we will be telling everyone about it. Hoping to make this a regular thing. Such a lovely ambience, staff are amazing and a great team, the service and food has always been outstanding when we have been for meals in the past, but the Afternoon Tea is a fantastic addition. We felt really special. We look forward to future visits!

My friends and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, there were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our meals - lasagne, gammon, cheese pie, fish and chips, and 2 roast beef dinners. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. If you're considering a visit, make sure to check if it's still open as it will be closing on Sunday, May 21st to be taken over by new owners. I would definitely consider returning when it reopens to see how it is. - John

Just visited the Tavern for our office Christmas party. We have been a number of times before either with work colleagues or friends and family. Each time we have found the quality and service quite good, as we have on this visit, although must say more expensive than other restaurants. However on our visit this evening you wouldn't have thought it was the Christmas season no Christmas music playing in the background or crackers on the tables, just plain, cheap serviettes. We requested some sort of music a few times but it fell on deaf ears. No doubt times are hard for these businesses and they are always looking on how they can make cuts, but surely spending a little on what I have mentione...
