"We stopped here by chance on our way to Drift limits. What a great place to find on the off chance. Lovely cosy place. Staff were friendly with great customer service. The food was delicious. I had the home made pie the beef melted in your mouth. Perfect. My husband said his cod was the best he has had in a long while. Our grandson had a burger described as really good. If we wasn't so far away we would definitely be there on a regular basis."

"We decided to try Fred and Ginger Cafe, Berkhamsted for a Sunday morning coffee and croissant. Very friendly and welcoming independent cafe and the atmosphere is really lovely. However, as soon as we walked in, we were put off eating, as there were flies crawling across the selection of beautiful pastries, which are left uncovered and are at head height so people are also breathing on them as they place their orders. Such a simple thing to fix just a long piece of transparent film across the top!"

"We visited The Bell to celebrate our birthday. We received a warm welcome, were shown to our table promptly. We ordered drinks and they arrived quickly. Our food order was taken as soon as we were ready. Two of us chose a Thai Red Curry from the specials board and our other guest chose the Steak and Ale Pie. We had salt and pepper chicken wings to nibble while we waited for our mains. The food did not take too long to come. It was nicely presented, there was plenty of it and it was delicious. We were too full for pudding so we asked for the bill which we received promptly. The service throughout was truly excellent, the food was good and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We look forward to another visit in the future."

"Always special to go to even for a hastily planned lunch for pleasure or work. The menu is exciting and the is always well prepared, served hot and delicious. The crab starter and aged beef were superb with creamed spinach and cauliflower cheese. The wine was brilliant and not overly expensive. It is a pricey meal out but it’s unrivalled for quality and experience anywhere in the area. It’s our favourite indulgence. And the staff are lovely, always."

"We visited this restaurant again to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff took excellent care of us and we enjoyed a lovely lunch with stunning views outdoors. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the mushroom pastry and salmon pate, followed by duck and the most amazing fish and chips. The dessert, a sticky toffee pudding, was the best we've ever had. The restaurant also boasts an impressive wine selection. While it may not be the most affordable option, the high-quality food and outstanding service make it well worth the price."
