Cannot review as they actually had no record of my booking made with open table . As it was for a birthday bitterly disappointed

Excellent food and service but we felt like sitting and upholstering could make with a deep cleanliness in the free seating area.

Matt B and his grandma and I rocked up at about 6:45 on Saturday and we were seated immediately I got salmon with veggies and chips.

Food etc was lovely except they had no reference of my booking so we were unable to have table service. Not sure how this happened as I had confirmation from OpenTable of my booking.

Lovely food a fab setting. Don't understand why they would put 4 adults in a room with tables of kids. Would appreciate nicer glasses for drinking brandy (not 1/2 pint glasses normally used for beer). Would also like to see some new cutlery not the cheap stuff you get in a greasy spoon your worth more than that!!

Party of four celebrating a birthday Golden Wedding. Although all the food we had was lovely, several of our first choices were not available. As it was only 7 p.m. on a Saturday this was a bit surprising. If it had been 8- 9p.m. it would have been more understandable. Limited choices of beers. However we all enjoyed it.

The restaurant actually had a table reserved for us. Although they had not read the special request for a quiet area, however we were able to move tables to accommodate our request. We all thought the menu was not as varied as in previous visits, portion size had been reduced, particularly with chips, but price tended to be expensive. In the past FISH dishes were more varied, not any more. Service was good as always.

Very bad Sunday dinner. Roast potatoes soggy and not enough, cabbage? tough, hard tasteless, waitress was hard to sell the cauliflower cheese, but it was horrible, bland and soggy. Was really disappointed when we went here for a meal in the week and it was perfect. Nice place (except for a few on a nearby table, whose child constantly screams) If you want a nice Sunday dinner, go somewhere else. Again for a lunchtime and poor again. My chips were well overcooked and uneatable, homemade broken onion rings had no dough, they were only greasy onions, waited for age, sad really, as it is a beautiful place.

Loved the ambience of this place and as much as two of us enjoyed the food the third person in our party was sorely disappointed. He asked for fish and chips but when it arrived it was so overcooked it just crumbled when the knife went through it. Having had it returned to the kitchen, the next one was almost as unpleasant. The fish was almost Unrecognisable and raw. The chips had been reheated and mushy peas were cold. The staff were excellent considering they were sorely understaffed and tried to make the best out of a difficult situation. Best to take fish and chips off the menu when understaffed rather than present it like this. Shame on you.
