"In my opinion it 's a really overrated place with ridiculous prices, we booked in advance for a birthday party with around 15 people and they sent us a menu when booking and said we have to let them know now what we want that was fine then the day we get there they say they 've changed the menu completely so was absolutely pointless even sending us the old menu. Then the food took an extremely long time and there was adults being served in our party before the children and I just thought it would be common sense to sort the children out first but obviously not. It also cost over £15 for a small chewy lasagne with no sides and the drinks options were very slim, in my opinion if your gonna spend daft money like that on food is rather go somewhere else as this place was not upto standard at all unfortunately. Food drinks: Not a lot of drinks options, I recognised two or three of the beers they had on offer also was told they had no lime when I received my first drink but the second time they did so unless they got a late night lime delivery I don 't understand what happend."

I recently had an amazing meal at the waterfront bar. The place is very nice, with well-presented and polite staff. The food was freshly made, delicious, and served hot. They also have a great selection of beers and spirits. I would highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant. It was a treat to see that they offer half portions for adults, which is not something every restaurant does. The food was of excellent quality and the service was very efficient. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. I would give the service and location both a rating of 5 out of 5.

‘Afternoon Tea’ was great value for money at £25 per head Lots of sandwiches, cakes and savouries. Beautifully presented on stands. Staff were lovely and extremely attentive. We were all very impressed (9 people on the booking) However, we was surprised to find that our food did not come with tea or coffee !! We had to purchase these separately. This is the first time I’ve had afternoon tea anywhere and not received a hot beverage as part of the experience. We all found this a bit odd as surely the clue is in the title Afternoon Tea !!

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
