"We visited this pub as part of our day out on the Wye. I was greeted by a really friendly young man behind the bar however that was where the good hospitality ended! We sat outside and would have loved to have ordered some food but we only had a short amount of time there. We ordered our drinks and sat outside. The landlady was extremely rude and hostile, she shouted …. yes literally shouted at us for taking a bite out of our packed sandwich. In hindsight perhaps we should have waited but we had just spent £10 on 2 drinks! She could have come over and kindly spoke to us but instead shouting at us in front of all the other customers Manners cost nothing! We watched her take a stick delivery and it is clear that she has little customer service and her very hostile attitude is “ My pub is busy and I don’t need to try and be warm and welcoming!” Shame as we won’t visit again."

"Delicious! We were in search of a gluten-free sandwich at this restaurant, but it wasn't on their menu. However, they kindly directed us to a nearby coffee shop that took care of us very well. What more could we ask for? We ended up going back for some ice cream and coffee, and we were blown away! The homemade gluten-free ice cream was incredibly fresh and tender. A big thank you to the ladies who assisted us initially, the ice cream was absolutely delicious."

"We were staying in Monmouth for my Birthday and based upon TA reviews, my wife and I decided to try this restaurant. We are so glad we did. The service was excellent, the staff very courteous and the decor and cleanliness, first class. However, the food is absolutely the stand out. I have eaten Indian food in restaurants all over the UK for the past 40 years or so and quite simply, this has to be up there with the best and is probably my favourite. We had Chicken Korahi and the Special Balti with a portion of Onion Bhajee, pilau rice and a plain naan. Every aspect of the meal was outstanding. Freshly cooked, hot and extremely well presented. Both of us could not fault a thing. If we are visiting Monmouth in the future, we will definitely return."

"Visited Monmouth during a recent stay in the Forest of Dean and having seen food reviews of this place on Trip Advisor, was keen to visit myself. If did not disappoint ! We sat outside on the street, people watching one of my favourite past times. I had the house special, the Rueben whilst my wife had a jacket potato. Both absolutely excellent !!! The coleslaw with the Reuben was phenomenal it has to be said and arguably the creamiest coleslaw I’ve had. My only complaint, there was not enough of it LOL. Food, service and drinks where are excellent and on the price scale making for great value for money. Highly recommended 9/10. Missed out on the perfect 10 as I wanted more coleslaw !"
