"We've visited the tea rooms on several occasions and have found it to be a welcoming, reasonably priced and quirky place to enjoy refreshments as part of a day out in Bridgnorth. The variety of teas on offer is outstanding. All are served loose leaf, which makes for a finer cup of tea than you would expect to get in lesser establishments. The food provided is very good. We particularly enjoyed the cream teas. The scones were delicious! The quality of food we saw being served to other patrons looked to be of a high standard. Everything was prepared to order. The staff were warm and friendly and happy to chat while getting with their work. The location under the Cliff Railway, adjacent to the machine room, is incredibly unique and it's fascinating to watch the railway in action above and around the tea room. Overall, we'd recommend a visit if you're in Bridgnorth, if you're lucky enough to get a table! Please note, that accessibility is limited to able bodied persons due to the winding staircase which is the only access."

I treated myself to afternoon tea for two at this restaurant for my birthday. The sandwiches, scones, and cake were all fabulous, and the staff were lovely. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Very enjoyable lunch with mom. Simply perfect earl grey tea loose leaf, toasted bacon and brie and tuna melt sandwiches. The side salad was a delight, beautifully presented. Sat outside on terrace. Altogether a treat. Well done. Visualizza piatti

My husband and I visited on a grey damp Saturday morning finding a warm welcome. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly, helpful and efficient. Coffee was nicely hot and cake (although only a small selection) was very nice.

The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance with a friendly staff and a fantastic homemade afternoon tea. Despite the rainy day, the views over the valley were still great. The attentive staff took great care of us and we will definitely be returning.

This is such a cosy unique tea room. We visited on a very busy Saturday, and we could see that the girls on duty were really stretched. However, we were made to feel very welcome opted for a nice table next to the old fireplace. The food was delicious we only had to wait 10 minutes or so. A truly lovely experience. Doing a quick tour of Bridgnorth after the SVR Flyer we came across this delightful, but small place. It seems to be popular which is a good sign : The lunchtime toasted sandwiches and tea selections were brill. Just what we needed. Great service as we were outside Don't miss it (just SE of the castle next to the high to low funicular railway

This restaurant is a hidden treasure. On a warm day, we opted to have lunch on the terrace which offered beautiful views of Bridgnorth. The food was outstanding. We even had a visit from Vic, the resident cat (named after the Victoria Sponge), although he was too lethargic from the heat to beg for any food. The staff was diligent and friendly, which is why we keep coming back to what we consider the top tea room in town!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
