"We heard that the pub had re-opened, so decided to visit for my husband's birthday and had pre-booked. We arrived and were seated at our table, at no point were we told or made aware that there was an issue with lack of food. It was left to the poor waitress to tell diners that most of the menu was unavailable, no burgers, chips, steaks, onion rings the list kept getting bigger and bigger as the evening went on (only 7.30 pm). We tried to order a burger, mixed grill, onion rings, only to be told they did not have them or a check would have to be made with the kitchen. After two or three choices being vetoed, we both went for the gammon, egg and fries (chips not available), ordering a drink at the same time. Half an hour later, we still did not have our drink, so my husband went up to the bar and they seemed completely oblivious to the drinks order, we did finally get our drinks a few minutes after that. Our dinner came out a short time after and it was very disappointing, definitely not Instagram worthy. A small piece of chewy gammon, one small overcooked egg and some very sad looking fries with peas. For two cokes, two gammon dinners and some halloumi fries it was just under £40, we did not bother with a dessert as the wait time was ridiculous for service. The tables in the restaurant are very close together in places and we could hear other diners, who were having the same issues as us. A family had come in at roughly the same time as us and had still not received their main when we left (they did not have starters). We still left a tip for the waitress, as I felt so bad for her, she was given the task of telling diners about the lack of food and was constantly backwards and forwards to the kitchen to check what was and wasn't available. If you don't have most of the menu, maybe close the restaurant and put a sign up to explain the reasons why, rather than leave it to your poor staff to take the heat. We were really looking forward to celebrating my husband's birthday at your pub and it was thoroughly disappointing on every level, we could not wait to leave, the food was certainly not worth the money paid."

Lovely setting, big garden, v dog friendly, staff absolutely lovely. Highly recommend. Yet to try their breakfasts, but I've heard they're excellent too.

They don’t serve food to over 12 garden tables for some petty reason. Dead atmosphere inside. Ok to pop in for a drink if you’re your on a river walk though

New refurb looks great. Unfortunately you can't order any food unless you're on the patio. No crisps or nuts. Rude, older lady member of staff. Drinks are pretty expensive

Wow... Truly amazed by everything.. what a great visit.. food was amazing.. the new decor.. the staff.. can't wait to return.. looking forward to a Sunday lunch on my next visit!

Wow!! What a transformation. We visited over the weekend and received a very warm welcome. The decor and ambience is amazing and the character of the building remains. The staff were very attentive and we received an excellent service from Tom and his team, mainly Tash, Amey and a lovely waitress, whose name I didn’t get. This is going to be our new go to and looking forward to taking friends this evening to celebrate their official re-opening. Also, garden is great too!

Nicely redecorated premises with ample parking facilities, food was good but one dish had over cooked and inedible mushrooms which was brought to the attention of the server who apologized, agreed and confirmed they were inedible and stated she would get replacements which never arrived. Service was very slow in so much we couldn't be bothered with ordering desserts and after requesting and waiting for the bill for quite a time had to approach the servers station in order to settle the bill and leave. We won't be returning unfortunately.

Went today with my octogenarian parents for lunch. Wanted to see what the refurb looked like. It looks lovely. However, even though it was a hot day and relatively busy we waited for 90minutes before cancelling our order of a “quick” lunch. On complaining I was told “we have good chefs” I said yep but obviously not enough to which I was told that I was wrong. Not so much of an apology but a very poor excuse. 90 minute wait? Is that acceptable? I shan’t return and I’ve had many a family get together there over the years. Very disappointed
