Excellent. A warm, friendly welcome from all staff. Excellent bar snacks, so good that we went for a walk around and came back for a second sharing boord of them! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Have been here with family a number of times now. The food is great (Sunday roast) and I would highly recommend to anyone. Aaron our server we couldn’t fault, cheerful, polite and efficient, couldn’t do enough for us. Will keep returning.

Dis appointing !! Went for Sunday lunch with 3 x people ...ordered 2 x beef pink ..food came and the beef was chewy and well done ! We complained and was told that , that was all they had as the beef had been pre prepared and there was nothing pink ....not the response we were expecting....never again ! Visualizza piatti

We had a lovely Sunday lunch served by Joe who was extremely accommodating. Although it took a while to come as they were so busy, Joe made sure to not forget about us and we were really impressed with the customer service (and for extra cauliflower cheese! Prices are quite reasonable and it’s a lovely atmosphere in the pub. we’ll definitely be back!

We have been here twice now to make use of the Pub Desk service available. This is a fantastic idea that has meant we can all meet up at a much more convenient location. This is in addition to unlimited Tea Coffee with lunch included! The service we have received has always been fantastic from Jamie and the food has always been wonderful with a great menu with plenty of options. We will be back!

I ordered the baked salmon with crushed new potatoes and kale. My meal was dry no evidence of the caper butter sauce. For dessert I ordered sticky toffee pudding and was told that they had the sponge but no sticky toffee sauce . but I could have custard instead!! I ordered a glass of wine and was delivered a spritzer, Not a good experience for me. Fortunately my husband thoroughly enjoyed his vegetarian curry. Visualizza piatti

This is a great drinking pub loads of nooks and snugs and great atmosphere. Range of beers also great. Service very good. This is the third time I've eaten there since nice change of ownership. Pub still highly recommended but food not so much. Three times I've eaten there and the menu finished product never quite matches. Expensive given the end product. It's not awful, don't get me wrong, just mediocre which wouldn't matter if it wasn't for the price. Still a great pub.

What a shabby performance at the bar. Gin and TONIC, the TONIC (charged at £2.20) poured from an already opened plastic bottle of a lowly brand. Surely , a £6 gin deserves a fresh tonic from a dedicated small bottle (to justify £8.20 cost) not a low life plastic bottle probably open from the day or two before! Shabby, treatment. Furthermore, had to request for a full pint rather than an inch (20 cms) of froth as an unrequested head. The merlot wine, according to my guest was undrinkable; clearly the bottle had been open for days!!

We were staying in hotel opposite. Had come up from Brighton to do some sightseeing in Chester wanted to go to Kenilworth castle too. We had a few drinks a meal. Harvey, behind the bar was a great barman very friendly. Remembered what we were drinking, even though pub was busy. We were then seated served by Chris, who after chatting, we found had spent a couple of years in Brighton. He was amazingly friendly efficient. Really enjoyed chatting with him. I had the steak, cooked perfectly my partner had the Gammon, which I tried it was delicious too. We shared a dessert of crumble custard. Good value..
