It is worth booking a table in this traditional pub/eatery. Lots of choice of beers and a fresh menu every day. Food is straight forward and the service friendly. Some English spoken but a knowledge of German is a distinct advantage. Good value. Located just...around the corner from the new Holiday Inn Express.

So, having been the person who put this place on Trip advisor in the first place, and having been here many times over the last decade it's still wonderful. Old school, beautiful copper bar, excellent beer and fabulous regional food to suit all budgets....If you find yourself in Wuppertal, there is simply no other place to eat. Book though, as it is popular.

This is the best place for traditional German cuisine. It’s also great they take credit cards as we found out some shops and restaurants only take cash. We had a feast eating schnitzel with mushrooms and our appetizer was delicious. Decent selection of beer along...with a couple of local brews. They mostly speak German but they did have a waitress who understood English and even better was their menu in English! They told us they usually have reservations and are fully booked but we were lucky to get a table that night. Such a great dinner! It felt like home if you grew up in a German household as I did. We’d go here again.

Close to the Railway Station and new holiday Inn Express this pub with local food was busy even on a Monday evening. We dropped by earlier in the day to reserve a table which was a wise move as we might not have been able...to eat there if we hadn't done so. There is a daily special menu with choice of main and a soup. Potato Croquettes with scrambly' fried egg and lettuce leaves around the side was a hearty dish that didn't offer any pretensions to fine dinning any why should it? Soup was a sort of beef consomme. Finished off with apple-strudel and ice cream. There is an a la carte menu with lots of choice but you probably need some German to do it justice. Staff spoke some English and were...

"If a family has been leading an Italian Sicilian restaurant for 40 years without interruption in a German city, you can talk about a tradition of Italian Sicilians. Forty years in the same place, opposite the Wuppertal swimming pool and not even an ideal location, about 1.5 kilometers from the city. We haven't been here for a long time, of course it's not 40 years ago, but two or three years ago. We have entered, like before, always full. The atmosphere has changed to the advantage. That he wore a very chic short black pants (to the knee, surprised us first, but not disturbed us. His figure allowed to wear this designer piece in the German summer.
