"We visited the restaurant after checking out the excellent farm shop, which had a lot of artisan products at reasonable prices. My daughter had the fish soup, which was loaded with salmon and cod in a delicious sauce. The garlic aioli and other dip were also tasty. However, the croutons were soft and not very enjoyable, so a chunk of crusty bread would have been a better choice. I ordered the fishcakes, which were unexpectedly large and served with a delicious tartare sauce. Unfortunately, the chips were terrible - the worst I've ever had at a restaurant, and there were far too many of them. If they had fluffy potatoes with a crispy coating, I would have given this place 5 stars. Overall, it was a very reasonable price at £25 for two including drinks. We will likely return, but will probably skip the chips next time."

"We popped in on a Sunday after some shopping. Coffee shops in the area were packed, no tables busy but we needed a respite after some shopping with our 11 month old baby. We stood at the door waiting to be seated which felt like an eternity. When we got in with our baby who was sleeping in the pram we were told that there was nowhere to pop the pram while he was sleeping but he could be popped in a highchair no problem at all. No checking how old he was etc (he was under his rain over not visible) what if I needed to breastfeed once he woke up? Or if he was a newborn the parents just wanted a bite to eat? There was adequate space for a pushchair, fancy turning away a family with a sleeping child. While I completely understand that you don’t wish to place a child next to friends couples dining out it’s a little unfair to turn away people on the basis of what are your restaurant regulations or whatever you want to call it do what’s morally right surely? Anyway the host was lucky our child decided to wake up at that moment because we were about to walk away considering the rather unwelcome greeting. We were hungry. Once we were seated it was all great from there. They managed to get a £50 lunch out of us! Myself my partner had black blue burgers which were cooked lovely came out within 10 mins of ordering. Our waitress was really lovely very friendly toward us smiley at our baby. Our baby had fish goujons with veggies fruit chocolate pot for dessert. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The highchair was a bit low for such a small baby so would be better if they got some with trays to avoid mess help out baby eat be more supported but he was excited either way. The high hairs were definitely more suitable to toddlers as opposed to infants. Generally a friendly service once we were there felt full satisfied so thank you to the lovely waitress for changing our experience. Just a quick fyi to the restaurant in general not all babies are loud cry. If your younger clientele aren’t happy with children in the middle of the day then maybe they shouldn’t be popping into a family restaurant?"

"Well I think the place has got worse, and don't dare complain with a dragon jobs worth as the manager role( apparently the owner )how thats happened i dont know maybe a hobby for her retirement as unable to deal with customer maybe consider a course for both you and the staff, which consisted of unintrested serving staff the food ain't bad once you get through this: 1.Left standing to be seated while 1 staff member runs roundand 4 others have a chat. 2.had to call server over for drinks order, food order and for the table opposite that required serving repeatedly 3.tables not cleaned 4. Floor not cleaned 5.Toilets unsanitary not cleaned, refreshed, broken toilet seat (unusable)2nd toilet blocked also unusable. 5. Staff need training act like their at a social event. 6.manager/owner/jobs worth rude, aggressive can't take criticism even when showed the disgusting toilets refused to believe her establishment was awful. Spoke to myself like 1 of her under 25yr old staff. 7.cleaning cupboard left open to the public but obviously not used 8.greated by unhappy customers who were disgusted Health and hygiene will be contacted the measure of the place was not fit for purpose and is need of overhaul. Is this place a business or joke I can't see a business here more of a hobby"

"We visited on a Saturday early afternoon, for a lunch. It was very busy, but we managed to get a table for 4 and ordered meals and drinks on the app. After waiting for 25 minutes, I went to the bar, to see if our order had got lost, as people were walking up to the bar and being served. I was told that there was a 30 minute delay, as only one server was making drinks ordered on the app for the whole restaurant. If I had ordered at the bar I could have had my drinks straight away. Our drinks arrived shortly after, two cold drinks and two empty cups for hot drinks. After we had got the hot drinks, I approached the kitchen to see how much longer for the food, to be told 5 more minutes. So approximately 30 minute wait for drinks, and 35 minutes for food. This was my worst ever Wetherspoons experience. I won’t use the app again."

"during a visit in the premier inn, which does not expect too much, the device and the decor could have to do with an upgrade. but personal very friendly. I ordered the squid and chips wow! it was a beautiful huge piece of fish in a light teig, good chips, muddy heaps and weain sauce. my man had that and the ribs, all really good. our breakfast here was also excellent, all well cooked and hot. great place to eat."

"Despite having a reservation for 1pm, we were only given the brunch menu at the restaurant. We later discovered there was another lunch menu available when we ordered dessert. The waiter took our order but forgot about the side of chips we requested, which only arrived after we had finished our main course. The roasted cauliflower main dish was tasty but served lukewarm, and despite being told it would be a whole cauliflower, it was only half, leaving us still hungry. We had to request cutlery for our desserts, and when it arrived, there were only spoons and no knife for the cheeseboard. The cheeseboard was missing the grapes listed on the menu, and when we inquired, we were informed they were out of stock. It would have been helpful to know this when we ordered. The homemade crackers were burnt, and the cheese portions were small and appeared to be leftovers. Overall, the food was overpriced for the quality and portion size, making it poor value. I will probably not return to this restaurant the next time I visit Frome, which is a shame because the location and atmosphere were nice."

"they barged Inn-to our lives and now we love them! Our family spreads quite in the south of the united kingdom of kings and Italians and the barge inn was the suitable place to meet after good reviews of the new property. how true they were! the main staff here was nothing but a joy, and eating (we had the sunday roast) was tasty, filling and very humble. I would say we will return, but this is actually our second visit! if they have not tried this welcoming, friendly pub or their wonderful eating, they try it. Thanks to somerset jim next to the bar that made my day!"

"We visited The Bell today for lunch. We knew ahead of time that they weren’t serving roasts today, as we called to enquire before arriving. Once settled at our table we overheard someone else asking why this was the case, to which the response was ‘lack of demand’. This was a shame as we’d have been interested to try one. We were still happy to go and choose from the usual menu. I opted for the Cumberland Sausages, Mash, Peas and Gravy and my fiancé the steak, Ale and Mushroom Pie which was served with chips and peas. My food was good, the sausages were succulent and tasty. The veg, you could tell, was either a microwave steam pouch, or from a larger frozen bag, but it was still very tasty. My partner’s said the pie filling was delicious, although it was lacking in lumps of steak and the pie was really a pie dish containing the filling and a puff pastry topper added. It’s completely personal preference with pies, but we would have preferred it to have been encased in pastry, rather than just topped. For the price, we felt the pie was a little on the expensive side for what was served- however it was still tasty. The pub was sadly lacking atmosphere with only two other diners in the lower area where we sat and a larger party up on the top deck towards the rear garden. There was only one member of front of house staff present whilst we were there, until we ordered our final drink when a colleague briefly appeared to assist with the drink order. I suspect, in fairness, coronavirus restrictions only recently having been eased contributed to the lack of ambience and the low level of trade today. Perhaps people are still a little reluctant to eat out, or maybe they had opted to eat at a later point in the day. It would be nice to see the demand for a Sunday Roast increase, and we would certainly visit to try one. All in all a nice visit."

"When we arrived at 12.30pm we actually thought the place was shut. The doors were closed and no-one was sat outside. It looked quite gloomy inside as it’s in a railway arch but it was apparent there were no customers. Unusual as all the other eateries around were clearly busier. However, we tried the door and they were open. Once inside it wasn’t gloomy, it must have been the glass causing that effect. Shame as other potential customers may have been put off. The service was great (all the staff just for us) and the food was delicious. The burgers are cooked to your specification and although I requested well done, mine was still juicy. Not at all dry. The onion rings are to die for. I would also recommend the house Mayo. My companion had sweet potato fries which are often soggy. These were perfectly crispy. My skin on chunky fries were equally as good. A small group of teenagers arrived just as we were leaving, but it was unbelievable that it was so dead for the city centre venue. Don’t let the lack of costumers put you off. Great food and service."

"We’ve just returned from a fantastic hen party for my sister in the beautiful yurts! From start to finish Peta and Raf were so accommodating and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us! The yurts are absolutely stunning and had everything we needed. I organised a yoga instructor who was brilliant I’d definitely recommend this as a hen party activity. We also had treatments from Lucy and her team from The Beauty Room. We were all so impressed with the facials and massages and Lucy was so excellent to communicate with in the lead up to the weekend. I really couldn’t recommend the whole set up enough. My sister and all of her hens had the best time! Thank you once again, we’d love to revisit on another occasion! This is a real gem."

"We stopped for a McDonald’s to charge the car up,it wasn’t as good as we hoped it would be. We went into the restaurant, and sat down,we saw a sign saying no Ice cream and milkshakes are available that was annoying as they were the two main reasons we came in but that was at the very start of the experience so if they had given me exceptional service and a great slushie then I would have given 5 stars. But that unfortunately wasn’t the case, cleanliness was about 3 stars out of 5 ,it was satisfactory for the meal but I don’t think it would have got full marks in a food hygiene inspection.I also would have liked to see a cleaner mopping floors and sweeping up and also I would have liked to see some areas cleaned! The service was also pathetic,it took 30 minutes to serve up 2 slushies,a melon bag, millionaires donut and an apple pie.It wasn’t understaffed, there were plenty of them but there were too many staff in certain areas and too few in other areas. Also they weren’t ridiculously busy for a Saturday night either,I was there for well over an hour and I saw no delivery driver. Also I have proof of evidence that they could have been prepared quicker as they were pre-prepared and only needed a 3-4 minute heat up.They need to tie the knot between the manager and working staff, they also need to give training. The slushies we’re tasty but had its problems too,on one of the slushies it wasn’t filled up high enough and we took it back to the counter and asked to fill it up,when we got it back it wasn’t filled up that much. Also the large slushie isn’t that much larger than a regular so be prepared if one of you has a large and the other one of you has a regular. However my melon bag was delicious and great value for 79p.The portions were fantastic! Now onto the positive bits, the bins are not overflowing,it’s nice and warm in there and the toilets are good and faultless. The atmosphere could have done with a bit of brightening up,they just played classical music but they could put all music on there. If McDonald’s continues to be like this, they will loose their iconic brand name and will fall! And that will be terrible for the economy, hope the chain cleans up the mess before the South Ruislip branch opens"

"The farm shop and cafe is easy to find, about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Priddy itself. Or 1 minute from the camp site. It’s a very friendly welcome, in a basic but comfortable hut. The breakfast was really nice, cooked fresh, nice portion, good prices, and enough choices to suit most people. The mid sized breakfast ‘Farmers Wife’ with black pudding as an extra and a filter coffee came to £9.75 Oct 2021 . They take dogs and muddy boots inside. You might want to book a table for breakfast at busy times as it was full. The shop itself only had a little bit of meat for sale, pork chops and a few pies, so I wouldn’t plan to stock up on anything. To be fair it was a little out of season so perhaps it’s different at busier times."

"Top Marks all round. The food here is delicious. Couldn’t fault it. From the Brie and Bacon tart with the beautiful pastry or the delicious lasagne. Didn’t try the cakes but they looked good enough to tempt me back. Lots of little details that usually niggle on my nerves were just right here … eg: the salt and pepper grinders and full sized sauce bottles, as well as the low, unobtrusive background music which was a pleasant addition rather than an assault. Add to that Uber friendly service (didn’t quite catch the name but may have been Sherry). All in all an extremely pleasant luncheon and our new go to when in Wells"

"I used to loved Heaphy 's, it was the first cafe I visited when I moved to Glastonbury and they did the most amazing paninis, however my experience today has put me off ever going again. I ordered smashed avocado on toast which cost around £7. When it arrived it was one piece of toast and the avocado was pureed. It was like baby food and I could have sucked it through a straw. I found one lump in it expecting it to be a lump of avocado but it was part of the seed/stone. Fortunately I realised before I bit into it. The staff don 't greet you as you go in and don 't seem particularly friendly, the person who delivered our drinks called us 'guys '. As a table of 3 mature women we did not appreciate being addressed as guys. This usually wouldn 't bother me but as the server was transgender I felt this highly inappropriate."

"Thought we'd try this restaurant, as not been there before. Hubby ordered king prawn with ginger and spring onions, with egg fried rice. King prawn was a good size but wasn't enough ginger, he only had two bits! Plate was put on the table while it was hot, before his foods came. His plate wasn't hot by the time his foods came, which took 10mins. Usually the hot plate and foods come together? We thought it unusual the plate came first, while waiting for foods to arrive? My plate wasn't hot but I wasn't bothered with mine, as I eat quick! It was nice not listen to music while we eat, which makes a change. We don't like music loud when we go out. To the restaurant staff, please bring hot plates out with the foods together, and not plates first and it gets cold! Hubby eats very slow. Our foods wasn't very hot either."

"Came Easter Sunday,as a family, celebrating Mum's 90th birthday, not a nice meal! The pork was two round slices, very fatty, the Chicken was a very small Thigh, 4 small carrot batons each and a small oval dish of sprouting broccoli between 5 of us, 4 small roast potatoes and a hard, hollow yorkshire pudding and 2 tiny pieces of parsnip, the meat and broccoli were hot, everything else, stone cold, admittedly we were asked several times if everything was alright, but none of us wanted to say anything,as my Mum had booked it and we didn't want to upset her and she was served a piece of salmon on request as meat is hard for her to eat, which looked much preferable to our roast dinners."

"We stayed at The George outside of Bath for 2 nights and ate dinner and breakfast at the Fleur De Lys twice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They told us about the history of the inn, explained the bus schedule and were very attentive. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. The hake was also perfectly prepared. The tomatoe and red pepper soup was also very good. They were very accomodating when we asked for substitutions, and when we asked to have breakfast early. The salmon and eggs, and poached eggs with avocado were very well done and filling at breakfast. Excellent service at breakfast as well. We also very much enjoyed our stay at The Plaine (across the street from The George), a lovely hotel. If we ever find ourselves in this part of England again we would definitely return."

"Popped into Puddys yesterday for a quick light lunch, we went in based on the lovely baked products in the window. The cakes and bread etc looked great. We should have bought a cake and run! We sat at our table and perused the tatty,...sticky laminated menu card, there looked to be a good selection. We ordered cokes and toasted sandwiches with a portion of chips to share. The cans of coke were delivered quickly. Then we waited......and waited! A toastie came out but was delivered to another customer who promptly returned the charred offering, she then left just paying for her drink. A good mins past, we'd finished our drinks and were debating whether to pay for them and go, when out came our food....well almost. The waitress delivered half a sloppy omelette to each of us, when I pointed out that we'd ordered toasties, she returned to kitchen where another waitress called out to another to check on whether we were telling the truth! Then she popped a tiny bowl of very greasy chips on the table. We'd had enough of the smell in there, the poor service and dreadful looking food so paid for our drinks and left. Nobody apologised for the lack of food and service, it seemed quite normal for customers to just walk out. We like to support small local businesses but this one we will avoid at all costs in future!"
