"Went with friends for lunchtime meal at this very popular restaurant. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The menu is comprehensive authentic Chinese, mostly Cantonese, (and not aimed at the sickly sweet European taste) an amazing range of starters, combo dishes, sea food, beef, chicken and duck platters to choose from with vegetable and rice dishes all beautifully arranged and served. There was a very good drinks listing both alcoholic and soft as well as different teas. The quality of the food is evidenced in the diners being mostly local Chinese people. The restaurant has comfortable seating but as it is so popular the tables seem to be very close sometimes impeding service. The toilet facilities were spotless but up a very long steep staircase. Parking has to be some way distant as the restaurant does not have any parking. As the restaurant is on one level disabled access is okay from the street, but toilet access could be a problem. Children are made welcome."

"a Sunday lunch. first visit and was very impressed. it looks tiny from the outside, but it is like a tardis! cozy inside and a beautiful outside area with pizza oven and kitchen, beautiful lighter and much seating. we sat inside through the cozy fire. the roasts were delicious and beautiful served, the cauliflower cheese was lush and huge! pizza was huge and delicious. service friendly and efficient. looks like they make many different themed evenings like quizzen and music. will surely return."

"We decided to dine at this restaurant during our overnight stay, hoping for a special experience for our anniversary. We spoke with a girl named Pria on the phone who assured us to leave it to her. Unfortunately, there was no special treatment, not even a balloon. The owner suggested the fillet steak and apologized for a leak in our bedroom, hinting at compensation for the inconvenience. However, we received no compensation and the meal was overpriced and incorrect. The fillet steak was £28 and the vegetables were an additional £4 (cooked to order). The sirloin steak was £21 and the vegetables were another £4 (not cooked to order) and overdone. No one checked if our meal was satisfactory. It was disappointing to see the lack of care for customers. Perhaps a simple gesture like a balloon could have improved the experience."

"The Plume of feathers is just a cracking pub. The Landlord and Landlady are warm compassionate people driven by a genuine desire to serve the community. Paul the Landlord is a highly acclaimed chef with a fantastic track record. A great choice of Real Ales in truly lovely traditional settings. Real pubs like this are few and far between now. I can not recommend this pub highly enough. One of the very best."

"there were eight of us, we sat very fast and we waited for someone to pick up our order. after some time we noticed a card on the table for ordering by an app. safe should the person that takes them to the table mention that?. after some time we have placed all orders only for the app to take the payment, then they ask for it again. this error meant that everything had to be ordered by the pre-selection. when we finally got our meals, with a little longer than the others waiting, some of the commands were wrong and when they were the children we moved food from one dish to another. we were two hours in the restaurant and it was a complete nightmare. everyone wanted to drink more, but we couldn't go back through this annoying, so the restaurant missed on eight more drinks. eating was very good, but we won't go back."

"was already several times in the jolly postie, mostly birthdays etc. the last visit was excellent again. quickly missed the waitress, quickly ordered, drinks came after just a few minutes waiting. eating was once again excellent, we had a bit of a mix like jäger chicken pizza, mixed grill, scampi etc. the waitress was polite, helpful and friendly as they were all visiting earlier. would not hesitate to visit again and again."

"I've walked past here many times, but not ventured, so I was pleasantly surprised on this, my first visit. Went for a coffee and a bite to eat with a friend and quality of product was really good, as was my coffee and the table service that came with a smile!. Goes back quite a long way and room isn't generous, but sufficient nonetheless. Wouldn't suggest it if you have a buggy pram though. Well recommended."

"I absolutely love the pizzas at this restaurant. I highly recommend trying the sweet and creamy pizza. The staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is incredible. Definitely worth a visit. Price per person ranges from £10 to £20. Food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5."

"This was my first visit to The Radcliffe Arms and my Husband joined me, for a Christmas meet up, with a local group I'm involved in. It was nice to meet in person, in a relaxed atmosphere. Some people I'd only seen on Zoom before. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and drink. I had the vegan Spicy Koftas, with a Christmas Ruby Ale. He had the pizza of the month, which had fig and prosciutto on, with Lucky Saint non alcoholic beer, as he was driving. He found it delicious and commented on the difference a wood smoke oven made. As I like really spicy food I put chilli oil on mine. It came with pearl couscous, salad and olives and was quite filling. I declined a coffee, but my husband enjoyed his. All in all, a nice evening out."

"My wife I landed on an early flight LHR from America, and headed north to Hertfordshire where we shopped bided our time before our first hotel check-in. We were looking for a light lunch during our stop in Hitchin, and came across the Hitchin Cafe on Hermitage Road. The cafe space was simple clean, the service was friendly, the menu variety would suit most tastes; I had my first serving of Coronation Chicken, with just the right amount of curry powder. Both of our small meals were fresh tasty. Nothing fancy, but a very good option for a satisfying lunch."

"I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The McFlurry was awful and when I asked about it, I was told it was because the ice cream was too cold and iced up. They wouldn't even replace it and insisted it was fine. I returned it and told them to keep it. McDonald's, you are going downhill fast. I will not be returning. "They had no Soya milk on 3 occasions in a month,was told on three occasions they'll get some and we had to wait.....10 mins later they did get some from the mini supermarket up the road,which is good but, i'm not waiting 10 mins for a coffee. I stopped going on the 3rd experience. Their Cornish pasty is nice,but needs a little more pepper,i did mention this but,it didn't sink in on the 2nd time i ordered it.Staff are ok,i get a feeling there's some issues with staff over the times i visited,too. Not rude,but something iffy is there for sure,can't pin point it. They do work hard try thou.3/5"

"Table for three consisted of two small round tables put together making the third person feel out of the engagement. Brought to the attention of staff member when shown the table and with few people within the restaurant this could have enabled a quick remedy. Met with a shrug when brought to the attention of this particular staff member, although other staff members were helpful during the evening. No real provision for wheelchair users. Had to go outside the hotel to enter the restaurant through conservatory with no ramp provision, having to struggle over threshold of fire door."

"Best pub Sunday roast in recent memory lovely trio of roasts and the turkey was succulent. Excellent staff, very accommodating to families. The only gripe was a lack of ciders. Aspall is all they have if you don't want the fruity rubbish. If you're only going to have Aspall, at least let it be Harry Sparrow. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Myself and my partner had a child free evening and decided to go into the royal bengal for the first time in a long while, I cannot begin to express how much this this team care for their customers. They took us in late even though they could’ve easily gone home. They had exceptional customer service, their food was nothing short of remarkable. They offer you complimentary drinks after the meal, if you're in royston and like a good Indian meal, GO TO THE ROYAL BENGAL! thank you all, I’d rate you higher if I could, will definitely be coming back soon."

"what a great sound. knowing the personalities that the js possess and operate, it will never be average. it was my first visit today and I was pleasantly surprised if they didn't know where it was maybe left to think it wasn't there. on the back of office buildings and a very narrow parking but worth it. andrea, from whom we knew when she was at the fox bei willian, she always has a happy smile and took time to talk to them. the same many years on happy smiles with a warm greeting. the food and the interior is not disappointed either. they need to add a few etagens as they are unpacked. well done js we will be back."

"My mum, sister and I visited the Sugar Boutique on the hottest day of the year so far for the Friends themed high tea. The cabin was all decked out with at least 4 different themed teas going on at the same time and they...all looked wonderful. I loved all the extra Friends themed accessories that were on the table (a wooden lobster, a central perk coffee cup and various quotes from the show) A lot of thought had gone into putting the various items together and I would say the vast majority were on point. My favourite from the savoury selection was the mini pizza. I could’ve eaten two myself (like Joey) but the sushi would have worked better for me with a little dipping pot of soy sauce. The sweets were well crafted. Loved the ‘peas’ in the trifle shot! The cupcake though was probably the best cake I have ever eaten from a bakery! Sadly though, as I mentioned the extreme temperature earlier, we had to cut our tea short and take the sweet treats home to eat because it was hotter than hell in the cabin, in spite of numerous fans going and most of the windows open. We will definitely be back for another high tea (in November when the temperature is better"

"Lovely pub. Dog and child-friendly. Good food. Themed food events, good beer, decent sized garden at the back and patio at the front. Nice atmosphere most evenings. Often host live music nights on Wednesdays. The owner takes pride in his pub and is keen to impress. They even offer a shuttle service for those nearby wanting a ride to/from the pub. Chef is experienced and hard working and bar staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit."

"Wow, what can I say but what a find. I’ve walked past many times but wanting to take the children I mind somewhere for lunch I decided here and none of us were disappointed. The tea room is beautiful with many beautiful artefacts spread around. We had sandwiches which were freshly made and very tasty. One of my charges had a chocolate brownie which he declared was ‘just the best ever’ my pot of tea came with a beautiful tea cosy which was a delight. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. The children want to come back in the next school holiday."

"Only ones in the cafe at 9.30, order was taken quickly and politely. We were surprised to find that they don’t actually do any breakfast food of any sort. Menu was lunch only really, despite opening up at 9.30. We both opted for cheesy beans on toast. Looked good but was stone cold! The waitress was very apologetic and immediately ordered them again. Second attempt was slightly better barely warm but edible. The waitress was again apologetic and only charged for one meal. She looked as though this was a daily occurrence and asked us to please mention it to the owner on the way out. He wasn’t around so couldn’t Needless to say we won’t be back for breakfast again"
