"Visited here on Saturday evening, April 13 for a celebratory meal with friends and extended family for my 80th birthday. The starters arrived as planned, but then things started to go wrong. One meal, of scampi, had to be sent back because it was barely warm, a steak which had been ordered to be with a jacket potato came with chips (a jacket potato was eventually provided), and worst of all, my own dinner, Hunters Chicken, never arrived at all. I had to ask three times where my dinner was, and by the time it arrived, some of my friends had already finished theirs. No apology was made when it eventually arrived. I had nothing to do with paying the bill, but was told that the cost of my meal and my drink had been deducted from it. However, what had not been deducted, was the £80 deposit which had been paid when the booking was made. Luckily my friend who paid it at the time of booking, caught sight of the bill and noticed this error, so it was sent back for correction. Had he not done so, the person paying the bill was none the wiser about the deposit, and you would have made a nice big extra profit !The reason we came to The Millstream was because we had a good experience for a birthday celebration last November. This visit was quite the reverse, and it will take a lot of persuading for me to make a return visit."
