"I've known the Fellini for a long time, but I haven't visited the restaurant in Rotenbergstraße for a long time. I remember the delicious pasta dishes. And so, after a small city stroll, it should go to the small Italian restaurant in the Nauwieser district. As the name suggests, the name of the restaurant is the famous Italian film director Federico Fellini. As a result, a series of photos showing the stars from the most famous stripes of the filmmaker can be seen on the walls of the local. The furnishings in the Fellini are modern, everything gives a neat, tidy impression. During our visit there is a nice addition to the standard card with some seasonal dishes, many with pifferlings (e.g. a variant with rabbit). As I mentioned earlier, however, today I want to return to a typical Italian pasta and in front of the Bruscetta, especially lush in the Fellini. After a pleasant waiting period, these are served by the attentive lady in the service for two people on a large plate for my accompaniment and me. The typical Italian appetizer consists of slightly roasted white bread slices with a freshly prepared tomato cube (in Fellini the cores were removed beforehand), olive oil and fresh basil. A dish that lives from its ingredients and does not disappoint us today. As a main dish, my accompaniment chooses a lambsugo for almost 14, Euro and I myself enjoyed the penne with tomatoes, capers, spring onions, anchovies and garlic at 9, Euro. Both dishes are well tasted and live as well as the appetizers of fresh ingredients. Only the pasta used in these variants is not freshly produced in the Fellini, but this is justified by a fair price calculation. The portions are very neat and so you can speak of a good price pleasure ratio. To the main course we drink an open merlot and a large bottle of water, there was once a campari orange and a house aperitif consisting of crémant, strawberries and fresh mint. The service at Fellini works on this early evening routined and attentive, although the small restaurant is almost full after an hour. We are obviously not the only guests who appreciate the solid kitchen performance in the Nauwieser district. The Fellini certainly does not have the right to want to be Saarbrücken's Nobelitaliener, it rather impresses with properly prepared dishes at fair prices."

"Almost breakfast in the divorce branch of Café Steigleiter and amazing, this time the proposal was made by the non-former. At first my wife had spent the last night, but this morning her willingness to breakfast was pronounced; I didn't come by the morning and of course our kittens had to be delivered by me before we were on the way. The mountaineers were so smart in view of the high levels that were to be expected again today, and in most breakfast areas the windows had left the roller shutters; so it was still pleasantly cool for the breakfast guests, at least until the early lunch hours, before the 28° C also held in the café. But we were almost finished with our early piece and could go; we had already paid directly at the order that is in the Café Steigleiter Usus. For Madame there was their standard breakfast The Piquant with 2 paws, 2 portions of butter and the piquant sausage cheese plate for EUR 6.90, with milk coffee (EUR 3.50) and a boiled egg (EUR 1.20) and later a small bottle of Fanta for EUR 2.20. Unfortunately, I had only read at the table on the map that, for example, a homemade Friikadelle with puppies and mustard could also be obtained here. I would have been connected to EUR 4,20; too late. For example, for the king of Savanna or the animals, as at the last visit, the two land eggs were stirred with ham (EUR 4.20), with a hint of Croissant (EUR 1.20) and a boiled land egg for EUR 1.20. Not to forget the cup of coffee for EUR 2,40. This time everything was fine again, except that the lady who had received our order had settled at the final price of the invoice; certainly without any evil intention and the problem was yes if my wife had noticed that it came out of the world too quickly. Shortly before our departure I had secretly received a small gift for my lioness; she was very happy about the spontaneous gift. Conclusion: Not only as cakes, cakes or chocolate buyers, but also as a breakfast guest, the climbing ladder is well removed. Addendum: Access to the Café Steigleiter, at least to this branch we visited, is absolutely barrier-free; at the entrance is a walled small ramp and the space in a toilet is flattering to reach, with the door it is so wide that you can also comfortably get in and out with wheelchairs of any type and width."

Fazit: Preis/Leistung geht absolut in Ordnung. Wie immer gilt: hingehen, ausprobieren und sich selbst eine Meinung bilden. Für uns persönlich war es ein recht kurzer Abend in der Rodenhofklause, die uns insgesamt nicht gänzlich überzeugte."

"As I was walking to my hotel ETAP, and started looking for a place to eat it was PM. I walked by the top hotel in Saarbrucken part of the Relais and Chateaux network and bumped into a guy pushing a stroller, and...asked him for advice. He pointed me to the Schlachthof and told me it was owned and operated by the same people who owned the Relais and Chateaux hotel we had just walked by. So I gave it a try. It's in a nondescript part of town, apparently close to the slaughterhouse hence their focus on beef though pork, lamb is available. This is a meat lover's place. The restaurant looks quite new and shiny with a larger room in a type of glass walled space, and a smaller room next to the bar where I sat. Service was efficient and friendly, english limited, but we got by, with a little help from patrons sitting close by French. I'm not a big beef person, but went for their choicest cut it was nicely done, and good, coming with a modest selection of well cooked vegetables. I had ordered a beer to start euros! Sure beats Paris prices! and also a glass of good Bordeaux to go with the meal euros more like Paris.... I came out of the restaurant feeling good about the experience. I thought it needed another years of operation to give it a little more of a well worn in kind of feel it did feel like construction had just finished. Otherwise, I recommend it"
