"I came with my aunt and 1 YO daughter for mothers day, we had the carvery and my daughter had a kids meal, the food was okay, what you 'd expect for the price, cheap and cheerful, exactly what I wanted for an easy laid back mothers day. Our table was booked for 12:30, I was second to arrive and FOH couldn 't direct me to the table as they couldn 't see the booking, luckily my aunt had text me the table number so I directed myself. When I went up for my carvery there was nobody there so I waited a short while, the cook dropped the tongs then I can only presume rinsed them or pretended to because he went in the 'in ' door (after another cook ignored his request to swap them for him) was gone for about 20 seconds and came out with tongs that still had food on so either same tongs or (benefit of the doubt) just different tongs already in use elsewhere... After our mains we asked for my daughters ice cream twice as it hadn 't showed, just as she had a spoonful a lady in striped jumper approached up and asked if we would be able to make the table available soon, I apologised and explained that my daughter had only just got her ice cream, she asked if they could have the table in 10 minutes, no other tables in our section of the same size were asked similar, the other tables of the same size were either clean and empty or had groups that had been there longer than us... I was extremely confused but of course understand demand, especially on mothers day, just didn 't understand why the table with a toddler eating their pudding was asked to move on but a same size party of only adults finishing their drinks were not asked the same? Also just after the lady left a group was seated in our section and given a choice of tables so obviously reservations aren 't designated to certain tables? As soon as it had been 10 minutes I took the wafer offy toddler and told her all done and left the table. Took toddler into play area for 20 minutes to burn off steam, came out and the table was still empty so unsure why I felt so rushed for my toddler to finish her well deserved pudding. I felt pushed out."

"It 's rare I post a review on trip advisor. Most people seem to use TTrip Advisor to moan about somewhere they went and didn 't like or actually threaten a place with a bad review to try to get either a free meal or a heavily discounted one (sad but let 's be honest....true} ANYWAY, I only tend to post a review on somewhere if I believe it to be exceptional and this makes the grade. I grew up round here and many many years ago, this place was a run down seedy sort of pub. Now it 's a fabulous Boutique Hotel and Restuarant/Cafe and the short version from me is just WOW! I 'm fully aware of what the hospitality sector is going through at the moment as my wife works within it so naturally when we both get the chance to go out (which isn 't often enough) she is a fierce critic and spots every detail because it 's what she does herself. I on the other hand just say what I think! So........ given the Covid-19 stuff, this place had a great one way system which is not difficult to follow although I 'm sure someone will try! Tables and chair are socially distanced both inside and out in the garden with nice polite signs asking not to move furniture as it 's been placed for optimum social distancing. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. This is always a bit part of anywhere I visit if I 'm honest So on to the food and drink.............. We were recommended by a friend to come here and have breakfast. The coffee was amazing (apparently a local blend from Canterbury but I can 't remember the name) and had a great taste to it. Nice and strong and not wishy washy Then on to Breakfast................ I went for the simple and humble Bacon Egg Sandwich which you could have on a choice of breads. Not stingy with the bacon and the bread was lightly toasted. My wife had the Plymouth Rock which basically makes a Macdonalds Sausage McMuffin look positively anemic (see the picture I 've posted) and she loved every bite of it! We also liked that we were supplied with a nice ice cold bottle of water too (I presume tap water) which was a nice touch and worthy of mentioning as not many places do this and personally, I love it! All in all, our experience was one of great enjoyment, as I mentioned, when your wife has worked in the industry for almost 30 years and can herself do everything from Silver Service to proper Barista Coffee (hence why I 'm spoilt when it comes to coffee), it can make you a rather harsh critic but both she and I loved our visit today. Pulling off the experiences we had today I know are much harder given Covid-19 but they had all that sorted We only have 3 gripes. 1. Neither of us get much time off together and we not wish we did as we want to come back as soon as we possibly can 2. We wish we didn 't live round here then we could book to stay here in their hotel side and 3. We wish we 'd ordered the doughnuts too after seeing some being brought out for another table just as we were leaving They looked amazing! Like I say, I don 't use the Trip Advisor platform to moan. I use it to shout about somewhere that is worth shouting about. Independent businesses have got it tough at the moment given all the Covid-19 stuff so if you 're anywhere near here, go and pay the Falstaff in Ramsgate a visit. You really wont be disappointed!"

"We were down in Broadstairs for the weekend and the usual restaurant we go to on a Friday evening was fully booked because it was Folk Week (Morris dancers around every corner). We had seen this restaurant from the pub across the road and always wondered what it would be like as we love Chinese food. My husband popped over and booked a table for the Friday evening. He explained that I was in a wheelchair but the lovely lady (I think her name is Grace) said that it was a small restaurant and not really wheelchair friendly but if I could get up three steps she would book the table immediately in front. That was fine for me as I can walk a little way. When we arrived she had booked the first table as you go in and helped me up the three steps and sat me down. We folded up my wheelchair and she very kindly put it in a corner out of the way. The menu in here is very extensive and as we were not sure what we were ordering we opted for a set meal. This started with a selection of things including seaweed, prawns on sezame toast, dumplings, spring rolls and ribs and it was delicious. We then had thin pancakes with cut up lamb, hoi sin sauce, cucumber and spring onions, again absolutely delicious.! The main course was egg fried rice, a chicken dish, a beef dish and sweet and sour vegetables. This was all washed down with a bottle of Chardonnay. The bill was something like £50.00 and Grace helped me back into my wheelchair. Highly recommended as the food is gorgeous but you need to book as the restaurant is small and fills up quickly. We will definitely be going back."
