"A nice family run restaurant with a vast menu considering its size. Over a few days had breakfast lunch and dinner. The breakfast was the fastest to be prepared. It was all fresh and tasty. The lunch was ok not as quick on the service but there was a few in so its to be expected. The dinner was a three course was ok but had better the steak was not what i would expect considering the price. We waited nearly an hour for our desserts and it was apparent they had forgotten them. They was not worth the wait tbh. That being said i would go here again definitely for breakfast."

We had ice cream which was excellent but the portion was insufficient for the price, the waffle was not great, not homemade.

It was just out of lockdown when we visited with friends. The food was typical French and very appetizing. Atmosphere very friendly the staff very helpful. Lovely lunch.

We are lucky enough to live close to the St Jean, as it’s a charming family restaurant with excellent food, and great service, and we love going there on a regular basis! 10/10 every time!

Un excellent repas d'anniversaire en famille. Accueil irréprochable, cuisine très bonne avec de belles présentations.Un lieu et une équipe au top. A découvrir pres de l'église dans ce beau village de Nanteuil en vallée. Merci

Hubby and I had a wonderful lunch today. I had the lamb shank and creme brulee. Hubby had the chicken and vege tagine with the enormous sundae for dessert. All the food was amazing and the staff were all great and very friendly. Visualizza piatti

ENG Amazing village cute amd quiet, the restaurant where I did lunch is overpriced and I didn't had the best experience. ITA Villaggio stupendo carino e tranquillo, il ristorante dove ho mangiato è troppo costoso e non è stato molto accogliente.

Passing by by chance around 1 p.m. without reservation of course and despite a terrace and room crowded with customers the owner found us a table and we thank her very much... Welcome, service, presentation of the dishes, delight of the dishes. ..etc. Everything is perfect to redo without a doubt. THANKS ! (Duck breast and its superb facing!

"Un déjeuner à l'Auberge de l'Argentor a fort bien ponctué la visite de ce joli village de Nanteuil-en-Vallée. Le temps maussade nous avait dissuadé de profiter d'une belle terrasse donnant sur la place. Du coup, nous avons opté pour la salle côté bar où règne l'ambiance auberge et se mélangent les habitués et les convives de passage.Nous avons apprécié le service tout au long du repas: attentif, efficace, sympathique.Nous avons opté pour un repas à la carte, pour le composer selon notre goût, malgré trois menus (13€, 26 €, 33€) très attrayants. Alléchés par la promesse d'une cuisine maison et de produits locaux en provenance des meilleurs commerçants ou producteurs locaux. Promesse tenue au goût par l'impression d'une grande fraîcheur.Une planche de produits locaux (jambon sec, cou d'oie farci à se rouler par terre, fromage de chèvre) puis une mouclade au pineau servie avec des frites maison, et enfin la coupe glacée Argentor,ont composé notre repas. Celui-ci a glissé avec un excellent vin blanc IGP pays d'Angoulême (11€ les 75 cl, 3€ le verre: ne vous privez pas de ce rapport qualité/prix).Tout cela vaut bien l'excellence ! Deux deux petites incongruités à signaler (que nous espérons être lues par le chef) :Quelle idée de donner du beurre breton salé en accompagnement des charcuteries: on est en Charente, non ?Trop de curry dans la mouclade; les recettes traditionnelles en prévoient une touche, sans que le goût domine.Enfin, une suggestion: un peu plus d'originalité et de tradition dans les desserts: nous sommes au pays des clafoutis, des tartes aux fruits de saison, des flognardes, etc.Cela dit, nous y reviendrons."
