The service isn't great, and the place is a bit pricy, but they serve a mean Kaiserschmarren, which is a shredded pancake with raisins and apple sauce, which was just delicious!

Abbiamo provato due tipi di birre: edelstoff e dunken, entrambe buonissime.Lo stinco era buono, ma non eccellente, lo strudel era ottimo, azzeccatissimo l'abbinamento tra strudel caldo e gelato alla vaniglia freddo.I prezzi sono un po' alti, ma in linea con i prezzi di Monaco.

Tried the Bavarian cheese delicacy - Obatzda. Aged soft cheese spread with the taste of beer on pieces of chewy bread, it was so yummy. Because of the food, I wouldn't mind putting up with the long face of the waiter - it was a hot afternoon in a peak tourist season after all ;) Visualizza piatti

Ci siamo seduti in questo locale accanto ad un tedesco e la nostra impressione è stata che lo stinco dato a quel signore fosse un bel pò più grande rispetto a quello che ho ricevuto. Per carità ottimo stinco ma direi che a Monaco abbiamo mangiato stinchi migliori ad un prezzo inferiore. Birre sempre eccellenti!

During our walking tour of the Old City of Munich our guide recommended we try Augustiner Am Platzl for a taste of local Munich and so glad we did.The atmosphere is typical beer hall with lots of things going on and everyone just having a good conversation. The beer, we tried the lager, was fantastic and food and service fine. Fun Munich experience.Great night in Munich.

We came here for a dinner. First of all we were waiting for an English menu for ages. Then the waiter thrown it to the table. Later he tried to be nicer, but atmosphere was ruined. We ordered some food and wait again. Too long! The food was badly oversalted, so we left most of portions on plates. And the cherry on the top was non-working card machine. Thank you and never again. Siamo amdati in questo ristorante per assaggiare un po' di pietanze locali coscienti di essere in locale per turisti. Al contrario delle aspettative, i piatti sono stati davvero molto buoni e preparati in maniera lodevole. Personalee gentilissimo pronto ad accogliere qualsiasi richiesta ed esigenza. Il locale è molto carino e caratteristico, consiglio i tavoli all'interno. Prezzi nella media essendo il ristorante in una delle piazze più famose di Monaco. Consiglio di prendere almeno un piatto della settimana (inserito nel menù generale).

I've been recommended this place from a friend of mine living in Munich. It's scored as a place to be. In fact it's really attended by people coming from everywhere. The place is typical. The service is really fast. Just a pity that waiters don't smile, they are always in a rush and, if you are not determined to get a seat, as it's almost always full, I saw them giving harsh replies to people just the get them going out. I know they were tremendously busy but, you know, the kindness is always an aid. Back to the food, fair quality. Both duck and pork were well cooked and served. Good value for money. And the in house beer is really good too. I would come back but keep calm and take it easy.

My best friend and I visit Munich every summer as a tradition. We love the food, beer and Munich people. Last year, we visited this place and were regulars. The service, food and friendliness of the waitresses was great. This year, we went here first after checking in. Imagine our disappointment when we sat down and realised how things had changed. The waitresses seemed very grumpy and did not even acknowledge us when we wished them good morning and asked how they were. "Excuse me" for a menu was simply ignored and it was obvious that we had been heard. So rude. We are both English and always make a real effort to talk to staff anywhere we go.
