I’m sure I’ve been in here previously for a brunch style menu. Tapas only now which was a bit of a disappointment. 3 tables who came in for food just ordered drinks and left which is a shame

Amazing tapas and a friendly, vibrant atmosphere. We were never rushed and the timing of the food was evenly spaced out. The wine was good and the overall price was very reasonable. We would definitely visit again.

I get the negative out of the way first, disappointed that the online menu is not correct/up update. Thats why I booked it in the first place, was looking forward to a nice steak from the grill. Not quite sure what the previous reviewer is on about. The top of the website says TAPAS BAR so must have trying to pretty hard not to see it, unless just looking for something to complain about. We had a lovely meal, serving staff were friendly. I’ve not had better croquetas outside of Spain. Would def go again and would probably order more next time.

Lovely tapas food couldn’t fault it. Only problem we had was, it was like being on a conveyor belt, not sooner a plate was empty it was collected. Constant all the time we was eating. Young staff attentive more “over attentive”. It felt as though we was being hurried to eat and out. Not like it was i’m sorry to say. Staff were not allocated a few tables so staff were asking us same questions for us to say, we told other person. Not well organised like that. I liked it when you could have tapas but also just a meal. Would’nt stop me going again, but not so much attention would be nice, time to relax and eat.

We've always loved Blacksticks, and although it's sometimes felt like it's lacked a bit of identity, we've always enjoyed the food and quite liked that you had different food options. So I was a little bit nervous when we saw it had changed to just tapas, especially as we were taking family on NYE and didn't want them to be disappointed. We needn't have worried the food was amazing! We ordered A LOT! And there wasn't one bad dish. In particular, I loved the garlic prawns and the mushrooms on toast. The short rib beef and mash was incredible too. But we'd have happily eaten all of it all over again! As always, the service was great and friendly. Only teeny tiny question mark would be the musi... Blacksticks Restaurant Bar Eccles 878303851 On our anniversary we decided to revisit this restaurant and checking out the menu on the website we booked a table for two. After ordering drinks the menus were placed on the table. It was at this point where the staff member pointed out that it was tapas, after I tried to order the short rib steak. If I had wanted tapas I would have booked in at a real Spanish tapas restaurant. Not the Manchester version! Although the portions were okay, the prices were a little expensive, e.g. £14 for a slice of short rib. At the end of the meal I asked for the bill and was asked if everything was ok. Not a soul in when we arrived (the other bars and restaurants nearby seemed to be buzzing that should have been a red flag). Woman behind the bar ignored us until I gave her no option but to stop doing whatever was more important than greeting us. She seated us and gave us the menus without asking what we’d like to drink. I had to shout across (as politely as possible given the circs)to her to order something and was told she’d be with us ‘in a bit’ and she carried on doing whatever really important thing she was doing. As we walked past the restaurant we saw that they had a board saying FREE TAPAS with drinks. We were hungry and wanted something smallish so decided to go in. Not our first choice of place to eat, as the food wasn’t great the last time we visited, but we thought we’d give it a second chance.
